I know he wasn't as good as his ERA in AA, but I wish they'd give Johnson a couple starts, just because we don't have any good options right now.

Well he fits right in I guess

At least he got the count to 2-2 instead of just fouling off a million pitches that were balls.

I'll do something crazy and give him more than one PA back up. He clearly swung out of his shoes on a couple of those but it could be jitters.

I don't understand.

First pitch is a breaking ball on the outside bottom corner. He takes it. I'm sitting here going, "Okay, Javy, now they are going to throw you the same pitch, except off the plate. Everyone knows it. You SHOULD know it. Please don't swing." The next pitch is exactly as expected, and he whiffs at it miserably.

Don't AAA pitchers know how to do that? Can't Javy just...... learn?

Or. You know, it's one time to the plate in the MLB since last year and he could just take a bit to settle in. Sure, maybe he strikes out 41% of the time again, but I'm going to give just a touch higher sample size. He clearly has made some adjustments and was getting much better results in AAA

Can we please stop freaking out over one at-bat

this is when you all should know you were very wrong to freak out over one at-bat

Nobody freaked out, you goon.

eh. "why can't he learn", "he fits right in", and "he's still a bum" are bad enough IMO. Not to mention it's not like everyone else is lighting up DeScalfani.

6 whole posts. One said "bah," the other (clearly tongue in cheek) called him a bum; one sarcastically said he fit in because, hey, this team, strikes out a LOT, another bemoaned him swinging at a terrible pitch, one talked about wanting to give him more PA's before judging and the other glad he got the count to 2-3 instead of just doing nothing but hacking.

OH MY GOD, SO MUCH FREAKING OUT. Nobody actually said he was toast or hopeless or anything. We thrive on sarcasm here; one would think it would be more readily recognized by regulars.
