A lot of our home runs on the homestand have been wind-aided. Hope the bats don't go cold in the expanse of ATT.

True, but there also have been a ton of extra base hits slapped to a much smaller OF than AT&T.

Speaking of this, Soler would have been a mess in RF at AT&T, at least we have that going for us.

THEY'RE ALREADY BURIED

I'll wait for this week to be over before I declare that.

Have your memory banks been erased of past epic collapses/comebacks that seem to occur about every 2 or 3 years? I know the odds are slim, but those odds can be very volatile this week if the Dodgers and Giants have a good week and we have a bad week. Which, since they're playing head-to-head it's not that far-fetched that things go south very quickly. That's why just going 2-4 this week is ok. Just don't go 1-5 or 0-6.

Stop this. The Cubs aren't going to lose just because they're the Cubs, just like the Cardinals don't win because they're the Cardinals. The Cubs are playing better than the teams behind them right now. And they have a huge lead. It's ok to accept that.

Baseball's a volatile sport, they could go 1-5 or 0-6 this week not because they're the Cubs but rather because baseball's baseball. Not to mention going against Bumgarner, Kershaw (or do they miss him?), and Greinke.

They could also go 6-6. Nobody gets extra negativity points for being a perpetual pessimist ahead of time.

I actually feel a little bad for the people that seemingly can't enjoy a run like this and are just trying continually to anticipate or predict when the other shoe is going to drop.

6.5 games up, 95% chance of making the playoffs. Even if we get swept this series we are in very good shape. Just going to enjoy the ride.

I am not saying that at all. The collapses in our lifetime haven't even involved the Cubs. I'm just saying don't suck this week and we're golden. That's all.

I really think people are completely misreading my point. I'm enjoying this exponentially, but I'm not going to say we have this in the bag when a very bad week (which is very unlikely) could let the Giants/Dodgers get back to within striking distance. This has nothing to do with the Cubs being the Cubs. This has everything to do with baseball being baseball. Any game amongst good teams is pretty close to a coin flip. If we keep coming up on the short end of the coin flips this week then we are back in a race with these teams. That's it. Nothing more.

No, my memory banks haven't been erased of anything. They are just aware of what 5% means.

Worry about it when there's a reason to worry about it.

Thought we were missing Greinke, but getting Kershaw...

Correct. I think we were originally supposed to get both but it looks like they moved Greinke around to face the Giants in the series right after ours.
