We have a pretty strong rotation with 2-3 guys that can slot into that role if needed.

 

Posters are as unreliable as pitching with the carpal tunnel. Tim has built up some much needed depth with high draft picks and trial/error over the lean times.

CUBS are on a pace (.583) to win 94 games. That would have them going 27-20 the rest of the way. In order to overtake the Cardinals at that pace the Cardinals would have to go 18-28 the rest of the way. That is not very likely.

 

Anyway you slice it..... however many games the Cardinals win from this point on, the CUBS have to win that many plus 9 more. It's a tall order, but it's not impossible.
