I think Maddon is thinking about future games, rather than this one... not sure it makes sense, but apparently he thinks they have this one in the bag...

There's no way he thinks up 1 in the 6th constitutes 'in the bag'. It was probably a combination of keeping Hammel healthy and the opportunity to play matchups in a 1 run game.

 

And getting Richard some work? He's been in the pen for over a week now and hadn't pitched IIRC. Still a strange move. Talk to your pitcher and at least let him feel like he has some say.

I've used one deodorant my whole life: old spice.

 

Hides the vodka sweats quite well.
