Don't like what somebody posts? Roll your eyes and move along. Because as I've said before, it's not so much the "meatballs" who derail the threads, it's the resulting snowball effect every [expletive] time.

If one who becomes overly worked up over a tense baseball game makes one a meatball, what does that make one who becomes overly worked up over what some overly worked up fan types?

Feel free to piss, [expletive], and gif all over this. But at the end of the day, I don't think that anybody's going to disagree.

I think you should be allowed to keep posting stupid stuff, and people should be allowed to point out the stupidity of said stupid posts.

What am I missing? Soriano literally gave up one hit (albeit a huge one). It was Motte who [expletive] the bed before him.

I don't get it either.

Not sure why Soriano is the bad guy here.

SCS, like DiamondMind, ultimately knows he's terrible, but like some kind of bizarro junkie is unable to do anything about it despite being self-aware.

They should be put in giant glass jars to be studied with oversized blades of glass for them to feed upon.

Jesus, people were foaming at the mouth hoping the Cubs picked up Soriano, now he has a couple bad outings after he first gets here and you want to DFA him? Yeah lets just throw $4 million dollars into a dumpster fire and call it a day.

It's a sunk cost. In other words, it is already in the dumpster fire. If he sucks ass, he's has to go. One game matters when you are chasing the wild card.

Edit: he has to go if they can find a better replacement. If not he'll do mop up like the guy he replaced.

have you watched any of the games? did you not notice Soriano's breaking pitches just dont break? he is serving up meatballs.

Look at the stats if you want he inherited runners in other appearances and let them score.. his fip is 9.34 for Christ sakes.

There is a reason no one wanted to pick him up until some teams like the cubs got desperate mid season. he is done. he dont look like he has anything left in the tank. for those who say "why did we pay 4 million for him" its not 4 million its pro-rated. so in actuality they end up paying him 1.5 or something like that.

I don't know if DFA'ing Soriano would be a good baseball move, but it *would* make me feel better, and temporarily sate frustrated feelings about this team.

I also couldn't care less about 4 million dollars, if the smart baseball move costs you 4 million dollars, burn it in a dumpster in front of Wrigley like some sort of pagan ritual

That's a ridiculously high standard; seems more prudent to just use him in less high-leverage spots for the time being and see if he can be salvaged in any way.

Christ, defending Soriano on a Cubs board. 2008 all over again.

People furious over a 3.8 WAR player worth almost $10 million more than what he was paid that year. Crazy times.

I feel that way because he's pitched like 4 innings and already given up 2 dongs and several other rockets.

I mean, he's not a good guy either, and nobody should have been all that excited about his availability in the first place. But Motte is the one with the disastrous inning last night.

I mean Motte is bad 2 they are both bad.

Motte is a one pitch guy.

Soriano's breaking stuff just dont break.

Lets go ahead and run Soriano out there 2-3 more times to blow a game and hope Bryzzo can hit another walkoff to save the day. these dudes suck

Can't argue with the fact that their stuff is lacking, but they're the best we have right now for the spots they're in. If we had better options to slot into those spots, they would already be here. Until/unless we make a trade for superior relievers (which really is a third priority in my opinion) they're the guys who we are going to run out there 2-3 times a week.

honestly, I don't get the anti-sontensei vibe. It might be due to the fact that I haven't been here long, but it seems like he just posts/thinks about oddball [expletive] when it comes to the cubs, and just gets endless grief for it. I mean, if he was an uberdouche at some point that I missed, I get it, but [expletive] man, laugh at him if you must, but it doesn't seem fair to, for all intent and purposes, vote him off the island because of it. It almost appears to me as if his bridge is already burned and now his posts are disregarded as soon as you read that he posted it. Even if some/most of his ideas and posts seem completely wrong, since when is being wrong a cardinal sin?

Quality before quantity!

Did CJ Edwards learn how to throw strikes yet? He could prolly do better than both of those guys

Absolutely. But then they shouldn't be surprised when they drag virtually every thread into oblivion.

Maybe I'm terrible, but I am what I've always been. You, on the other hand, were once a mostly intelligible poster who happened to be an at times amusing [expletive]. But over the years, you've kind of spiraled into the purposeless, mean spirited love child of Waldorf/Statler and Jeffrey Albertson. Don't worry, I'll read your venemously witty, eloquent rebuttal. But really, I've nothing further to say on the matter.
