in addition to soler being pedro cerrano, i think kyle schwarber might be jack parkman. questionable defensive catcher with an amazing bat, forced to try to carry a bunch of losers on offense. not excited for when ptr sells him to the cardinals. at least he won't sell him outright. he'll get us an outfielder. he used to play for the giants. not those giants.

If you think about it, the Cubs were probably going all out to win the first game considering this game they will have Beeler pitching and Schwarber likely on the bench. But hey Dexter Fowler and Starlin Castro will play!

you guys really need to stop thinking one guy in or out of the lineup or whatever means a whole lot in a single baseball game. you can barely do this with pitching matchups and that's more on the extremes.

you can't predict this [expletive]. not one game.

unless it's schwarber. then you're safe predicting dongs. so maybe you're right about the impact of not having him in.

The offense is horrible; dead last in pretty much all team offensive stats over the last 30 days.

eye test it has looked much better since the break IMO

hard hit balls, good at bats, etc.

i may be off (and i didn't see today's game)

Well, that's terrifyingly bad. The fact that the Front Office and Media seem fixated on a pitcher clearly haven't seen the offensive "production" from CF, 2B, and SS lately. And having a bench that's this awful offensively isn't helping.

fowler and russell have looked pretty good lately.

and russell (who at 21, amid struggles, is still on pace to have a slightly above average season) is definitely not going anywhere.

No Bryant, no Schwarber, No Coghlan + Beeler... Think ill go see ant man tonight.

No Bryant either? This is like a surrender lineup to a team that already took game 1

Try not to get swept and lose a 3 game series to the [expletive] Reds [expletive]

Posted
Why the [expletive] is Bryant sitting against a LHP? If the idea is/was to give him a small breather, I'd think the game at ass crack versus a decent RHP would have been the one.

There hasn't been any power to speak of, but Russell and Fowler have been getting on base close to 50% of the time over the last 2 weeks.
