Are the Cubs seriously not allowed to get any clutch hits? Seriously, when is the last time we had a big run scoring hit late and close in the game? Rizzo's home run in Arizona?

This is truly awful.

I'm not even mad at the pitching, to be mad at the pitching is futile.

This team needs to be able to score 5 runs occasionally. It can't.

3-5 in a stretch against the White Sox, Braves, and Reds. This team is truly mediocre.

7-0 against the mets

this team is truly unbeatable

Oh good. Now we can lineout 6 more times to end the game.

No one is hitting Chapman, despite the fact no manager with a brain should be using him.

Chapman threw 45 pitches 2 days ago and 15 yesterday. Save to say he's not gonna be used tonight. But then again, the Cubs can't hit Iglesias.

so it was strop's fault frazier hit a ball at his shoelaces?

He's saying that Frazier's skill got that bloop. It was still buzzard luck on Strop's end

Soler. Yesterday. Not his fault Grimm ruined it

Remember that stretch earlier in the year when it felt like no matter how far the Cubs fell behind they were going to come back and make things interesting?

How did we go from that to a team where a 1 run deficit feels almost insurmountable?

The K's are "fine" if they'd be hitting for the power they should be

edit: not going to get pitches to drive when you're chasing and striking out so much.

How can you say Grimm ruined it? we have to be averaging like 8-10 people LOB every game, sure feels that way at least

He served up the meatiest meatball in history to Bruce.

i literally couldn't care less about the K's if they reached base and hit for power

Like if you strike out 40% of the time but have an OBP of .400 we'd be fine. If every player was Kris Bryant's profile, we'd have the best team in the league, even with a near 40% k rate

Didn't see it, just feels hard for me to blame him. Every game is tied or a 1-2 run game, relievers wont always be perfect. I thought how we used them tonight was really stupid, though.

good thing or else you might give up on them

or you might anyway

The offense has looked good this series I think. Rizzo, Soler, and Fowler all hit balls hard tonight with RISP and 2 outs. Schwarber's double bounced over the wall. They could have a lot more than 2 runs with the way they've swung the bats.

which if you go back and read my posts, was exactly my point. to which, he replied, "pretty sure that's a skill"
