some GRB posters are consoling themselves by talking about how many games they are up in the wild card

YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY

true story: to this day I'll occasionally come across a biker driving against traffic and I'll say this out loud in the car. sometimes I have a passenger, but it's not really important. it just needs to be said out loud and loud enough to make me feel i nailed the movie line. this has been going on for at least 5 or 10 years now.

haha

btw does your annoying coworker still ask about the cubs?

never. i've never been mean to the guy but i think he's picked up on the fact that i don't necessarily enjoy talking cubs with him. or maybe he's just weird or thinks i'm weird. doesn't matter i guess.

but, funny story (if i can convey it). so after GAME ONE of the season, his email said "I see they are still the same bumbling, stumbling, dumbling cubs of always". to which, i though, is dumbling a word? surely not. but i googled it to make sure. the only thing that came up was urban dictionary:

Dumbling

Wearing unintelligent jewelry

i.e. Seriously dude? Wearing a 24 carat gold chain with your hoodie? Stop dumbling...

(the guy that sent the email is a 50-something white guy so he obviously just made the word up in his heated frustration over a single loss in a 162 game season)

So I forwarded this to another co-worker and it's been an ongoing joke when someone makes a mistake or looks dumb that they are dumbling.

I know it's a small sample but it seems like every ball Soler's hit since he's been back has been hit hard and he hasn't been swinging and missing nearly as much.

That's Solers thing - if he's hitting the ball, he's fine. Earlier this year he couldn't make contact. I'd be interested to see his return velocity off the bat. Seems like it's SO loud.
