Whelp.

Well, at least today was a relatively flukey loss, with all the [expletive] errors.

welcome to the Cubs, Baxter, now go face Kimbrel with 2 outs in the 9th

i wonder how much more rope pedro strop gets before he gets moved down in the bullpen pecking order.

Who are you replacing him with?

i have no idea. that's probably what's keeping him in that role despite his recent slump.

Well, clearly I missed something today since this Baxter fellow suddenly exists.

i had been seeing him in box scores at iowa, but assumed he was typical AAA roster filler and didn't bother learning where he came from. i still have no idea who he is.

If it helps anyone to cope, this is how they won one of the games in the Pirates series, so the Cubs decided to pay the favor forward tonight

From the Fowler out to the errors to of course two runs scoring on Norris' double to of course Coghlan would homer off Kimbrel, this one was tough to swallow. Hopefully that doesn't cause a West Coast spiral because it very well could.

Hopefully it doesn't make them choke on their food as their plane crashes when the pilot has a heart attack after finding out the whole team has blood cancer.

im pretty much done with castro. With his terrible fielding, bad obp, and strikeouts Im ready for the russell era to begin at ss

If you hate errors and strikeouts and enjoy obp, Baez isn't exactly your guy either.

Well. Errors fucked us. But way to go coghlan. Kinda odd his hard hitting pays off in the worst hitters park but hey I'm not complaining. The Castro and Russell errors were tough. *sadface*

Through the netting behind home plate while he was in the on deck circle, I thought I was reading Baker on his jersey. That was a head scratcher in and of itself. When someone corrected me and said it was Baxter, well that certainly didn't explain things. Especially with 2 outs in the 9th. Some guy I have never heard of is the best we had to offer at that moment? Ugh.

I will say he took a pitch pretty well knowing 98 MPH heaters were being dished up in a critical point in the game.

KB's bad throw was pretty sad and Addy dropping the ball he ran out abut 50 ft to grab was a tuff play, but castro fumbling a ball hit right 2 him was unforgivable.
