2014 Cubs pitching gave up a .383 OPS to the 9 spot. The NL as a whol gave up a .444 OPS to the 9 spot.

shields secondary pitches are nasty though alot of them start in the zone and end up out of the zone

Yeah, but it's on a lot more swinging and missing (for strikes 1, 2 and 3) than I think is normal for this team.
