Baez 2 for 3 with a K

Alcantara 0 for 3 with a K, he's scuffling. 5 for his last 28 with 11 K and 0 BB

What'd I miss there? A 2B and a 3B, but he's hitless?

I think he meant LaStella.

yeah, my bad - lastella was hitless.

good pitching today:

underwood 5ip, 4 h, 0 r, 0 bb, 3 k (1.07 ERA)

paniagua 2 ip, 2 h, 0 r, 1 bb, 1 k

clifton 6 ip, 4 h, 1 r, 3 bb, 7 k

baez is 3-4 (all singles) with a strikeout. also has two stolen bases.

Baez 3-4, up to. 311 on the season. It may be time to start seriously considering where everybody is going to play if he gets back to the majors in the near future.

Andreoli is quietly sporting an .881 OPS.

i forgot that he's an actual fringe prospect because he had such a terrible year at tennessee in 2014. i guess he'll be battling it out with szczur for the righthanded-hitting 5th outfielder who can be a late inning pinch runner and defensive replacement.

I honestly feel like that's his like 4th longest homer ive seen this year. I don't know what stadium we're dealing with but he's left a few already.

I'm more curious as to what becomes of Olt if/when he resurfaces.

In a world where Baez and Castro are a part k the plan, probably Baez 3B, Bryant LF, which I believe was the plan before Javy was left for dead by far too many.

Speaking of Javy, I know about the whole slowed approach at the plate, but have there been any further notes on how he's looking?

I didn't even see that he was there. Sounds like the brief but forgettable Cubs career of Jonathan Herrera nears the end. I feel as though he's like Milton; he was cut a while ago, but nobody told him.

Tennessee's lineup is loaded. When Hanneman starts hitting, it's going to be even tougher. BTW, the Cubs have Bryant, Soler, and Russell in the majors, but have a pretty good looking 2nd tier lineup in the high levels of the minors.

LF- Hanneman

CF- Almora

RF- McKinney

3B- Villanueva

SS- Baez

2B- Alcantara

1B- Vogelbach

C- Schwarber

All other than Alcantara, are having pretty solid seasons overall, with the last 2 guys murdering everything. I wonder if the Cubs will really "go for it" this year. Looks like they will compete for a wildcard spot as is. But they could use a LF, another starter, and maybe another bullpen arm. It'll be interesting to see how many of these guys they'd be willing to trade and how much they could get in return from this group + maybe a couple of the arms.
