I have to assume that Vogelbach will be in Iowa any day. Maybe Schwarber. It's not like there's anything holding them back. Valaika's at 1B, and lord knows he's disposable. They have 3 catchers, two are organizational fodder, the other a garden variety journeyman.

Why the rush? Let's let these beefcakes marinate a bit.

Vogelbach added a walk, which gives him a 20% BB rate and a 5% K rate on the year.

With Rizzo's penchant for getting hit, I wouldn't object at all to keeping Vogelbach. Let him DH against the AL(and hope NL adopts it), while being the 1st PH option off the bench and spotting Rizzo 5-10 games a year at 1B. 250 AB's from him could be of use to a good team.

I agree.

I could see Vogelbach added to the 40 man and a September call-up to give a bench bat and then moving into the role described above starting at some point next year. Could be fun.

Vogelbach is basically having his first really good month as a pro. Let's pump the breaks

2011 and 2012 happened.

He wasn't "really good" those years

On what earth are .324/.391/.686 and .322/.423/.608 not "really good"?

Well, that was the same season

IMB said that this is the first good month he's ever had. Those encompass multiple months.

Anyone know if Bruno handles 1B, 3B, LF? He's a guy I'd love to have end up on the big league bench.

He played 3rd for UVA, and he was fairly solid at it. That said, AzPhil seemed pretty negative on his defense (it was in a recent post in the replies), saying he was basically 2nd base or bust (suggesting his arm wasn't good enough for 3rd). That strikes me as a bit odd based on what he was at UVA ... but I guess it's possible things have changed.
