As of tonight, Dallas Beeler is back in action with the Iowa Cubs.

It's sad this excites me....But I'd love to give him a shot in the pen immediately.

always a smart move to sac bunt with the #2 hitter (almora) after the leadoff hitter doubles in the bottom of the first inning.

I understand the official score is a sacrifice in the situation the runner advanced and he was out, but is it possible he tried to bunt for a hit?

Vogelbach added a walk, which gives him a 20% BB rate and a 5% K rate on the year.

3:12 K:BB for those of you following along at home.

I'm starting to think of these two as a duo:

With Rizzo's penchant for getting hit, I wouldn't object at all to keeping Vogelbach. Let him DH against the AL(and hope NL adopts it), while being the 1st PH option off the bench and spotting Rizzo 5-10 games a year at 1B. 250 AB's from him could be of use to a good team.

Vogelbach singles to bring his OPS to 1.333.

Bruno with a grand slam too, his OPS is now north of .900

south bend has a hilarious line of 9 runs on 2 hits. needless to say, the opposing team's pitchers have had some control problems - 8 walks issued in 4 innings, plus a HBP. they've also made 4 errors.

gleyber torres has two walks and has walked 10 times in 16 games. his OPS is mediocre, but that's because he's not hitting for any power - which is to be expected from an 18 year old middle infielder playing full season ball.

clifton has been good: 4 ip, 2 h, 1 r, 0 bb, 5 k.

al contra is 1-2 with a double, szczur 1-1 with a sac fly.

blackburn had a rough first inning, allowing 4 runs including a 3 run homer, but settled in after that, allowing just 2 baserunners in his last 4 innings. final line: 5 ip, 6 h, 4 r, 0 bb, 3 k. hannemann is 2-3 with a double.

stephen bruno hit a grand slam for tennessee. zastryzny threw well: 3 ip, 3 h, 1 r, 0 bb, 2 k, 1 hr. byron buxton has homered for chattanooga.

pretty fun game between tennessee and chattanooga - back and forth with the lead, now tennessee leading 12-10 in the 7th. how about the prospects in this game, too? batting #1-3 for chattanooga is byron buxton, jorge polanco, miguel sano. batting #2-4 for tennessee is almora, schwarber, vogelbach.

cj edwards came on in relief in the 7th. no runs but did walk 2 more batters. do not like. derek johnson, please help.

The guy a few publications had as the #1 pre-season prospect is OPS'ing .629 in AA, while Bryant as a 1.044 OPS in the majors. Suck it, people who didn't have Bryant as #1.

Bruno is a 2B/3B type so he probably can fake it at 1B/LF, but he's a little guy(5-9, 165 lbs) so it wouldn't be ideal.

Vogelbach walked again, his OBP is .571.
