CUBS are 4-1 (.800) when they get a quality start.... 2-3 (.400) when they don't

CUBS are 5-2 (.714) when their starter pitches 6 innings or more.... 1-2 (.333) when he doesn't

Go CUBS !!

Schlitter is exactly who you want in this situation since a bunch of pen guys are unavailable. Hard throwing right handed sinkerballer

I try not to be an alarmist, but I am concerned about Lester's stuff. I guess it was better today, but the ball looks "dead" when he throws it.

Our standards for "unavailable" seem ... light. We haven't been using them *that* much.

I know the bullpen is thin, but come on.

dammit i almost made a comment when schlitter was warming up that maddon was putting up the kyle signal

Yea I dont understand the Lester negativity today? By far his best start. Velocity was way up. Still needs a little more action on his cutter/sinker, but he looked a LOT better.

I thought it looked flat relative to his best, but it was better than his last two starts and maybe he just needs to warm up. I'm prob more concerned than I should be.

Except that he can't ever keep the ball down so it doesn't matter than he's a sinkerballer.
