Jason "Car Joke" Marquis was hot garbage in 2000 and frigging 8, there's no way the years have helped his sorry ass. Shawn Estes was more satisfying to watch. May he be donged into oblivion.

On the brighter side, I agree with our beloved manager after tonight's game:

Joe Maddon: "If we keep giving that kind of effort all year long, I'll be very happy. Good things are going to happen."

Despite falling just short tonight, this team has definitely shown a lot of heart in just 7 games. I'm feeling confident they can keep it up.

Go Cubs.

Say what you want about Marquis, but I thoroughly enjoyed that CGSO that one time in 2008, vs. Pittsburgh. Also, symbolically giving up the 600th to Sammy while wearing 21.

You can really tell this is a young team when theres 52 total PAs vs. a vet. Expect Montero to be batting higher in the line-up.

I would prefer to start building leads instead of playing catch up though.

It would have been nice if we had a day game today with the Hawks playing tonight. But whatever. I figured we'll be up 6-0 by 7:30 when the hockey game starts.

I might break out my old Jason Marquis jersey t-shirt tonight for old time's sake.

I might have to break out the 2 TV and Computer trick for tonight. Hawks on the big TV, Cubs on my second TV and Bulls streaming on computer.

Last time I did that, all 3 teams won.

TV RATINGS: #Cubs on @CSNChicago last night were #1 in the entire Chicago market (among all Adults 18-49) during primetime (7-10p)

Digging this trend.

Can't decide if i want the bulls to win that game.

Yes you do. You are going to have to play the Cavs at some point, might as well be their first real playoff test in the second round (assuming they breeze by the Celtics untested) rather than having a much more confident and tested Irving/Love/Thompson in the ECF. If they are destined to lose to Cleveland, who cares what round its in, the expectations are to win the conference, anything less is a failure whether its the 1st round or the 3rd round. The team is too veteran to use as a 'building block' for future seasons.

Sorry for the derailment, back to Cubs talk...

Was that the game Soriano led off the bottom of the 1st with a homer and it ended 1-0? That was actually a fun game if only for the novelty.

Why do you have one of those?

Well, I lived in St. Louis at the time, I was drunk, thought it would be funny to wear to Cubs-Cards game. I'm not sure why anymore.

My wife took my son to see it when it came out, cuz the snowman was funny. He's never had any interest in watching it again, so I've gotten off scott free. Thank god.
