I will forgive this if they make it up on Thursday.

At this point, it'd be worth it to push it back for KB

Also, depending on when this game happens, the Cubs could actually have both sets of bleachers back and have a full park.

EDIT: ^^^ Well there you go

on the brightside, probably one more game of kris bryant!

Especially considering that extra game will be against the Cardinals, it is kinda worth it, I suppose.

It really is a big benefit to play that game later considering our team should get better the longer the season goes.

July/September? Bryant and Russell should both be up by then. We may have made a deadline trade.

Just looking at weather.com, this seems like a weak postponement.

This. Opening Day 2009 against Colorado was played in a 38 degree constant drizzle, miserable to sit through, although Ted Lilly taking a no-no into the 8th softened the blow.

The Fukudome game in 2008 against Milwaukee was pretty bad too if I remember right.

Fukudome game in 2008 was humid and a little drizzly but temperature was nice...was overcast but warmish by opening day standards, iirc.

2009 was awful...cold and wet, but that was a day game at least...but yeah it probably behooves them to get this ppd anyway.

IIRC it started off cooler and warmed up to near 60 as the game went on. definitely one of the less painful openers i've been to.

been to every opener since 2007...i'd say 2008 was the second least painful after 2010, which was gorgeous.

2009 had to be the most miserable as far as weather goes.

On the plus side it's one less game missed by Bryant and one more day for construction!

2013?? It was like 75 in the sun. Granted, the team was painful.

Tomorrow is the first WLS game.

The rotation has been adjusted for the upcoming games. Friday-Sunday vs. Colorado will be Wood, Hammel, and Hendricks, in that order. Any idea what the justification could be for flipping Wood and Hammel?

Also, this means Lester will have 7 days between starts. Is it too soon to worry that he may have lingering issues from the "dead arm" period?

Might be a 'too much rest' thing. Wood's final ST outings were 5 IP on 25th and then 1 inning on the 4th. Hammel threw 6 IP on the 27th then 5 more on the 1st.

So it was pointed out on the Score that the forecast doesn't even have rain in it until like 11...lol

Had to be a desperation move to get more time to help accommodate the facility inadequacies they faced on opening night. I'm sure they've all played in colder weather, this really is a joke of a postponement.
