Production is good but wayyy too much time spent on old stuff at the beginning.

Best hype video is the one they made for the Cubs Convention.

Posted
TIL there are a crap-ton of "2015 Cubs hype" videos on Youtube.

I am quite hype. And go ahead and put Baez at 2b no matter what.

When he actually hits the ball it is such a beautiful thing to behold. If he actually had something resembling acceptable contact ability it wouldn't even be fair so I guess it makes sense.

I just want to hit 250 HRs this year.

The path to 250

catcher platoon - 20

rizzo - 40

baez - 25

castro - 20

bryant - 30

soler - 35

fowler - 10

coghlan/denorfia - 10

alcantara - 10

russell - 5

olt - 5

pitchers - 5 (with lester, arrieta, hendricks, and hammel as 4/5 of the rotation this is going to be a tall order lol).

damnit i couldn't even get close with the most optimistic projections

Posted
I could see Alcantara and the Coghlan/Denorfia platoon topping 10, and Olt topping 5.

seems pretty unlikely in a situation where bryant, baez, and even russell hit their marks.

especially olt. he'll get like 3 weeks.

Baltimore led MLB with 211 last year. Colorado was 2nd with 186. The top NL team for HR outside of Coors was.....the Cubs, with 157.

Bryant - 40

Soler - 40

Baez - 25

Rizzo- 40

Castro -25

Fowler-20

Montero/Ross 15

Rest of the team 40

it's doable, damn it.

Has there ever been a team with three 40 HR guys? Two even?

I'll answer that:

The record is 249 for a NL team (2000 Astros). There has never been a team with 3, 40 HR guys. There were lots of teams with 4 30 HR guys. The 2001 Blue Jays had 2 40 HR guys (Delgato, Bautista), the 2006 White Sox had 2 (Thome, Dye)

Fowler with 20??

Bryant won't get to 40 if only because of the time he'll spend at Iowa.

~175 is probably realistic, the below is my best guess and even a bit optimistic on some and it's at 185.

Rizzo- 30

Soler- 30

Bryant- 25

Baez- 25

Castro- 15

Fowler- 10

LF- 15

C- 20

Other- 15

1973 Atlanta Braves: Davey Johnson-43, Darrell Evans-41, Hank Aaron, 40. Three guys accounting for more than half of the 206 they hit for the season.

edit: left out an L in "Darrell"

I would've guessed one of the Blake St. Bombers teams.

If PED's are allowed or Wrigley suddenly becomes mid 90's Coors Field

And mid 90s Coors Field still needed both those things.

Not only did the Blue Jays not have a single 40 HR guy in 2001, but Jose Bautista certainly was nowhere near the team, and maybe the majors?

He meant 2000 Blue Jays. Delgado and Tony Batista each had 41. Brad Fullmer and Jose Cruz each had 30+ on that team too. Delgado's OPS+ that year was 181

I think I'm having a stroke or something. I read that as "Batman content" for a good while...I was literally waiting for the Batman theme to start during the hype video. Wow.
