It's a brutal unforgiving sport though. Injuries will kill a career even if they are flukes or whatever else. He's already been through a nearly catastrophic one, we'll see what this one turns out to be.

That is true. Going to be hard to recover from two injury-filled seasons.

Titans about to lose to a Dallas team that really isn't very good at all. I'm going to be unhappy if Jake Locker gets a contract extension.

On the bright side, the coaching staff seems to have had a good game plan, the players just haven't executed it well.

So the Bengals just got called for a personal foul on an onside kick that was whistled dead before the play started. The announcers can't figure out why it was a penalty when the Bengals player took an obvious cheap head to head shot on an Atlanta player that wasn't expecting any contact at all.

According to the RedZone guy, it's "only" a dislocated ankle for RGIII. That can't be more than a few weeks out at most, right? May be the first time I've ever heard of a dislocated ankle.

No, that's honestly probably worse than a break. Ankle ligaments take forever to heal and in many cases are never the same again. A break probably would have been a shorter recovery period.

A few weeks?? Good god no.

Good day for the Bears so far. I'm guessing the Vikings will go to Bridgewater now.

Ok.

One good game then yanked after one bad one. Seems like a pretty quick hook why not just start the season with him then.

Seeing people on Twitter suggesting he might be done for the season.

Dislocated my ankle two weeks before graduating high school. The tendons didn't feel good enough for me to swing a bat for almost a decade.

Less annoying to live with than a broken ankle, as you can put weight on it a lot sooner, but awful sports injury

Dang, guess I severely miscalculated the implications. Hearing dislocation made me think it could be a few weeks, just like when guys dislocate shoulders, elbows, knees, etc. But it makes sense an ankle is a whole separate issue.

Because Cassel's only a placeholder and it's incredibly obvious to everybody. Nobody really believes Cassel is their answer at QB. The strategy should be play Cassel until he costs you a game (which he did today) and then either try Ponder and see if he can keep from costing you games or go to Bridgewater if he's ready.

You can't keep running a QB out there who has a history of being terrible and was just terrible again. Last week was a fluke, this week was a continuation of the norm for Cassel.

I wouldn't consider any of those to be even relatively easy/quick injuries to recover from.

I don't think it's fair to Bridgewater to run him out there with no AP as an option. Probably a big reason Cassel was bad today, though I admittedly didn't watch any of that game.

Just start with Bridge then. 2 games yields zero additional development.
