I have excess depth at RB and the other owner has excess depth at WR.

I receive: Mike Wallace (or Keenan Allen if I preferred) and Darren McFadden (I have MJD so I'd lock up that mundane backfield)

I send: Golden Tate and Ahmad Bradshaw (currently on my bench)

I find it slightly comical that you guys are swapping arguably the two most injury prone RBs in the NFL.

I'm not sure I'd do it. Tate, while a #2 WR, has a much better QB than Wallace and Bradshaw is on a far better offense than McFadden is. That said, I feel like Wallace and McFadden are definitely the more talented pair.

Standard 12 Team League with 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex

I've got

Matt Forte

Le'veon Bell

Rashad Jennings

Terrance West

Antonio Brown

Roddy White

Cecil Shorts?

Somebody in my league is offering up Calvin Johnson and badly needs RBs.

If I could, do I trade Le'veon Bell for him? If I have to, do I trade Forte?

I think I'd trade Bell, but not Forte. Just looking for thoughts.

I'd probably lean towards trading Forte for him in non-PPR. I'd see if you can get him to throw in a RB for depth and you give up a lesser WR to complete the deal.

Ok here is another. A counter trade proposed to me:

I get:

Torrey Smith

Marques Colston

Zac Stacy

Pierre Thomas

Rob Gronkowski

I give:

Andre Johnson

Ben Tate

Lamar Miller

Travis Kelce

Background - it's PPR. I'm 5-0, but my bench depth is short, especially WR. I originally proposed Andre Johnson/Lamar Miller/Vernon Davis (would keep him in new proposal as flex option) for Gronkowski/T Smith/Branden Oliver

My gut says this counter proposal is better than my original offer. Colston/Thomas/Stacy/Smith each have their own question marks but each would be flex options every week (only really needing to choose one). Getting Gronk (fully healthy) could be key and it'd strengthen my overall depth.

Love Tate but injuries always a problem and that's a full backfield of talent that I could see going committee sometime - injuries or not. Love Kelce, too, but Reid is still only playing him 50% of the time and Anthony [expletive] Fasano got more targets last week.I'm inclined to accept but would love any feedback.

Thanks for being awesome as always, NSBB

I'd probably keep Miller and Johnson. I think those 2 are legit starters who you can keep in your lineup most weeks, and Ben Tate could get to that level if he stays healthy. Meanwhile, you only get Gronk as a no question starter. I wouldn't do it.

Edit: also you're 5-0. Don't mess with it. Don't overthink it.

Too late. Already pulled the trigger. Hope it doesn't bite me in the ass...

I think one of Colston/Smith can rebound close to what Johnson will provide going forward. May be too optimistic, but I'm also not crazy about Fitzpatrick.

Stacey/Thomas for Tate/Miller could be a bit of a downgrade if (big if) Tate stays healthy all year. But, being a PPR league, I'm banking Thomas is going to have solid production and Stacey to bounce back when he gets healthy. I only need one for a flex spot so I have some flexibility there. I think Moreno (back this week) will start hawking the goal line situations in MIA and it to be 50/50 split (if that, Moreno was getting more touches before he went down).

Gronk/Kelce is a no-brainer upside. With NE in a terrible division with terrible receiving options, if (another big if) he can stay healthy Gronk could be a monster for the rest of the year. I like Kelce, but Reid's an idiot and I don't think they'll utilize him to his full capacity this year.

Regardless, my depth was really, really weak overall. This gives me a couple more options and allows for me to survive an injury or two. So, right now I have:

QB - Rodgers

WR - Mike Wallace (WR is now deeper, though still my weak spot. Have some bounce-back higher ceilings now, though)

WR - Colston

RB - Foster

RB - Lynch

TE - Gronkowski

Flex - Andre Ellington

Flex (pick 2) - Pierre Thomas/Zac Stacy/Vernon Davis/T Smith/Boldin/Bowe

Backup QB: Russell Wilson

Handcuff: Blue

Sitting by himself lonely on the bench waiting for an Antonio Gates injury: Ladarius Green

Eh. It's not the best team but if the pieces fall right it could win a championship, I think.

I'd maybe try and trade Rodgers or Wilson for a legit WR if you could. I'm in a similar spot as I have Rodgers/Wilson in a .5 ppr league and am debating trying to spin one off to strengthen my team.

I just got offered this trade in a .5 PPR league

I get:

Calvin

Romo

Ridley (going to drop him but makes the trade work 3 for 3)

I send:

Rodgers

Harvin

Watkins

I'm 4-1 (about to be 4-2) below is my roster

QB- Rodgers, Wilson

RB- Charles, Forsett, Bush, Sankey, Mathews, K. Davis

WR- Alshon, Harvin, Welker, Watkins

TE- Bennett

Am I crazy for considering it? There isn't that big of a drop off from Rodgers to the best matchup of Romo-Wilson every week, imo. Once Johnson comes back he's much better than what Harvin/Watkins have done this year. Welker is a fine #3 WR. Some options for a 4th WR (who I'll pick up with dropping Ridley) are Malcom Floyd, Mike Evans, Kendall Wright, and Riley Cooper so there are okay options for depth. I might have to suck it up 1-2 weeks before Johnson comes back, but it seems like a move that makes me better come playoff time.

I'd do it. The upside of CJ over either of Watkins or Harvin seems like it would be greater than the upside of Rodgers over Romo/Wilson.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm probably going to accept

I made another trade and I think I feel pretty good about it. Thoughts?

PPR league. I'm 7-0 but have been really concerned about my depth and especially some of the touch match-ups my players will be facing in the playoffs.

I traded:

Russell Wilson (have Rogers so probably would never have gotten a start except next week. I'll pick up whoever is the best available next week to fill in for Roger's bye)

Torrey Smith (just received him two weeks ago. He seems like a good bounce back candidate capable of big games. But still not being targeted a ton and not a lot of confidence in him every week)

I received:

Chris Ivory (hands down the best NYJ back. Hoping he gets some more 4+ passes as he did last week going forward. Seems like a decent bet to match T Smith)

Bishop Sankey (not done exceptionally well but still being fed the ball. With Shonn Greene as his only real competition, I like Sankey's chances to have an extended period to improve his on-field results. He'll be a bench piece most weeks and a flex option, but has the opportunity to turn it on and be a nice asset down the stretch. He holds more value to my team than Russell Wilson).

Seems like a lot of intelligent FFB minds that post here. Anybody want to make me feel better? Seem like a safe trade even if upside is not a ton?

I think you gave up the best two players in a two for two deal.
Well I know Wilson is a good QB (and probably an upgrade for him), but he holds no real value to me beyond next week. I'm obviously starting Rogers every week.

I'm not sure Torrey Smith will be the better player between him and Chris Ivory (2 TDs in todays game already and coming off a 125 yard rushing effort). Maybe Smith bounces back to his form last year, but he's boom or bust in the best case scenario. Sankey may very well be the worst player in the deal, but he does offer some chance of upside if he catches up to the speed of the NFL game. If not, he's just another player sitting on my bench. Time will tell.

ETA: I should also mention that the trade deadline is next week and I've been shopping Wilson around to sell high the last couple of weeks. It was now or never if I was going to get any value for him. He's essentially a throw-in from my perspective. He's also looked like garbage today (and Torrey Smith has been held without a catch).

I mean, in an effort to gain depth, you traded QB and WR depth for the RBs of two of the four worst teams in the league, who likely won't be running much in games.

I needed flex at my depth spot, so WR vs RB vs TE doesn't matter. I have 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE locked in every week.

What it boiled down to for me was any possible upgrade from Torrey Smith. I have handcuffs for my elite running backs and only have one flex spot which is really a decision in any given week. Up to this point, that last flex spot was reserved for Torrey Smith. I received Ivory who outperformed Smith today (Smith played against a D that is bad against the pass, Ivory against the second best run defense - and in a blowout, no less). The Jets may not run the ball all that much, but a starting RB for any team is valuable. I received two of them for an incredibly hit-or-miss wide receiver. Wilson is a nonfactor as far as I'm concerned. I'd have liked to get better value for him, but trading your backup QB in any league that only starts 10 QB's isn't easy to do. To put that into context the guy I traded with this morning played Wilson and benched Big Ben. That cost him about 60 fantasy points. After next week I probably would have dropped Wilson to pick up a flier considering I'd be going with Rogers for the duration.

If you think Torrey Smith is better than both Ivory and Sankey then it's a bad trade for me. But, everything I've read has both of them rated higher as flex plays. Sankey may very well be a total bust and Ivory may not live up to expectations. But I'll bet on the safer choice of Ivory and the upside of Sankey just gives me another option to stash on the bench.

Yeah, I'm don't mean to be contrary or argumentative in my responses, just trying to explaining my rationale and the circumstances.

I tried really hard to do better for Wilson, but in the end nobody else was buying him as a legit elite fantasy QB. Therefore, it was either trade him for a marginal upgrade at flex, or hang on to him for a one-week start (I'm making the playoffs regardless so one game doesn't matter). After that I would be faced with either keeping him as insurance if Rogers got hurt or going ahead and dropping him for a low percentage flier.

I disagree with this pretty strongly, especially in regard to Ivory vs Torrey Smith. Russell Wilson is clearly the best player in the deal, but his utility to weis is hampered greatly by the fact that he can only start one of Rodgers/Wilson each week - he's wasting a roster spot by carrying 2 QBs.

Out of the other three, Fantasypros (not definitive, but a quality grouping of many "experts") has them ranked this way for the rest of the season in terms of flex:

Ivory: 49

Sankey: 66

Torrey: 76

I tend to agree with that as well. Ivory is the 13th ranked RB in scoring this season, Torrey is the 38th ranked WR in scoring (all according to standard PPR scoring). As for Sankey, I'm not going to make some silly argument that he's been great or even good, but he's a talented young RB who is showing improvement as the season goes along - he's at four yards per carry for the season and that's mostly been done with Charlie Whitehurst at QB. If Mettenberger can bring even some semblance of consistency to the QB position, I see no reason that Sankey won't get better as we go along. How much better is the question.

I'd rank Wilson as the best player in the deal, Ivory clearly second best and then an argument over upside between Torrey and Sankey for the third spot.

I was proposed this:

Sproles/G Tate

I give:

Ellington/Sankey

Sankey is strictly a beach option as I've mentioned before and WR depth is rather weak (starting Colston who has been infuriating this year). RB I'm good with Foster/Lynch/Ivory/etc. it's a PPR league.

I know Tates stock should fall a bit when CJ comes back. But, Ellington is also playing hurt all year and I've been scared to death his foot will shred one day. Crazy for thinking about it? I honestly just saw it and haven't researched Sproles outlook going forward enough, but knew I'd like to see if anyone wanted to weigh in, regardless.
