How/why does baseball allow this to come out so shitty and piecemeal? The NFL, NHL, and NBA have these grand "schedule release days" that are excellent, but baseball let's screen shots and some [expletive] ticket sales person put theirs on the internet. Hopefully this is something that Manfred can fix.

Also, if the Cards win the title (pretty much a guarantee at this point), that first game could be moved to Sunday night.

They would almost certainly open at home on that Sunday night and then move the Cubs Monday game to the off day Tuesday.

They've done 1 game series on Sunday night in the past.

Just booked a cheap hotel room for the weekend of 6/19-6/21 in Minneapolis. The Marriott City Center was only $129/night with no cancellation penalty until the day of. If you have any interest, might not be a bad idea. I'm excited!

Get ready for a November World Series.

What are looking like some of the likely dates/locations Bryant could be up?

Maybe the Pirates series at the end of April?

If they're serious about winning next year, he should be up the first damn game. They make too much money to worry about an extra $15MM 3 years from now.

If they're not serious about winning? Maybe June 1 @Miami?

No. That is foolish.

The difference between him and Coghlan/Valbuena or someone like that for like 3 weeks worth of games is negligible (hell, very easily could be a net gain).

So in 2011 when we sucked, hard, we set the three game attendance record at the K. So of course every NL Central team is back here but us now. :banghead:

Are you angry that Baez is up?

Baez isn't a Boras client and is different in that his developmental history suggests that calling him up when they did could have a substantial impact on how productive of a player he is for most of next year.

That and the fact that with Baez we're talking about an August call-up, not making the opening day roster with no prior service time. If we were talking about having called Bryant up to get a two month taste this year, that'd be more a bit more defensible than him making the opening day roster with no service time accrued yet when all you need to do to get an extra year out of him is wait a couple of weeks.

I can't imagine anyone who wants Bryant on the opening day roster wouldn't want him up now.
