Dallas is also poorly coached and has had huge iunjury problems. Romo has been really good for the past 8 or so years. Better than Jay based on the eye test and every single traditional or advanced metric.

That said Trestman single handedly took a playoff team last year and turned them into a 7-9 team. Last year Jay was pretty good Trestman wasnt.

Why do people do such gymnastics to defend Jay all the time? exactly how good are we supposed to think Cutler is? Hes pretty good most of the time but are we supposed to think hes one of the 4-5 best QBs in the league?

Was today the kind of play that you want from Cutler?

If he goes 34/49 with 360 yards often we'll probably win a lot.

but because we're the unluckiest franchise in the history of franchises, no rules apply and we will lose every [expletive] game because we are the unluckiest [expletive] team ever

@mikecwright: C Roberto Garza has a walking boot sitting in front of his locker. He didn't play in 2nd half due to ankle injury. He's getting MRI on Mon.

@mikecwright: LG Matt Slauson also has an ankle injury. He left locker room early to get treatment.

@mikecwright: Matt Slauson is getting an MRI on injured ankle tomorrow.

Unless there was a retroactive change to the 2013 season, he finished 8-8. And LOL at the idea that the 2012 Bears were a "playoff" team.

The Bears defense gave up 30 points a game and Emery hasn't been able to draft a good defensive player yet (hoping Fuller is the first). Trestman helped the offense become the second-highest scoring unit in the league. Would Arians have been better? Maybe, but last season was not completely on Trestman.

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on Tony Romo.

Also, we're totally going 0-16 and everyone should be traded for the highest draft picks possible right now.

I think Romo is an above average QB who is stuck behind a [expletive] OL.

You guys won't go 0-16. Dallas isn't even the worst team in that division (Washington).

*psst* I'm a Bears fan.

Im talking about the 2013. Forgot we went 8-8. That team should have made the playoffs if not for a number of asinine in game decisions.

Not when you throw two picks on top of that. Jay is 4-14 when he throws 2+ picks.

It's fun watching Dallas lose and the hicks go crazy over how bad they almost always are.

motion to ban Ryne Ween, cubbyvirus and CubsBearsMagic from every future Bears thread in perpetuity.

Understandable. I must really look out of place being one of the few here today who hasn't lost their mind.

I'd say that there is "Absolutely no reason to be optimistic about this team after today." is a tad dramatic, but I'll apologize for lumping you in with the other two. You're unbanned

I think that was the easiest game on the schedule this year. Maybe home against the Vikings is close. Not good. Who knows what will happen the rest of the season, but if the Bears miss the playoffs, could Emery and Trestman both be gone?

No. No [expletive] way.

I didn't see the game today because I wasted it at Arrowhead watching a horrendously bad Chiefs effort. In a nutshell, what happened?

Bears shot themselves in the foot repeatedly. Marshall fumbled in FG range. Cutler threw a pick in FG range, and another near midfield. Bears defense wore down and gave up a couple of long runs. Dumb penalties killed us too. Just a bad bad game.

Oh and injuries to 4-5 offensive starters throughout the game

so next 8 in a row against potential playoff teams. 6 on the road. Predictions?

3-5

5-3. A couple of those teams aren't as good as their reps, and a ton of crap had to go wrong today for this game to even get to OT. Bears will be fine.

My two cents:

- The second of Cutler's two picks was on him; the first was on Martellus. Jay should have thrown the second one away and he admitted that in the post game presser. That said, he nearly threw another in OT.

- There were several dropped passes. Spurlock was wide open twice and dropped both of his targets. He should never play again.

- Conte told the press he was trying to strip Jackson rather than tackle him because - regardless - Buffalo was already in FG range. Guess he doesn't realize that it is harder to kick a FG from 20-30 yards further out. He made a nice play closing on that pick, but his tackling still sucks. By the way, he had the opportunity for that pick because Manuel was forced out of the pocket, which brings me to...

- The D overall is tackling much better than last year, but they still can't generate pressure on the QB. Without it they will eventually be screwed.

- Matt Forte is still the best player on the team; Marshall is a close second.
