I don't see Wood or Jackson as locks.

I'd like to see two offseason acquisitions that are good enough to be rotation locks.

Arrieta/New Guy/New Guy and then let Hendricks, Wood, Jackson and Straily fight for two spots.

That's a bit thin, but I've seen worse rotations.

That's what I expect too. But I think it'd take a lot for them to take Wood out anyway. Jackson? I can see it, but not if he's still here. They'll just have to give him away.

Yep. If one New Guy is someone who we can reasonably hope for a 3 win season(Maeda is that guy for me), that rotation will work just fine.

Maddux speech really good, Frank was the show stealer. How in the [expletive] could Torre not mention Steinbrenner?

Strike 1 to Rizzo one of the worst I've ever seen called, per Gameday

Holliday hit a pitch 405 feet to center and Valbuena hit one only 400. Difference in the game.

Castro now at the second lowest rate of his career in all slash mark stats. The good news is that his lowest totals were all last year but man is he sliding quickly.

We may have the best collection of least clutch players in the majors. Honorable mentions to Castillo and Sweeney.

We have terrible players for the most part which is why they tend to not perform well in the clutch.

Jesus [expletive] Christ man

we have a bunch of shitty hitters. it has nothing to do with clutch.

How long has he been slumping? 3 weeks now? Or has he just been abysmal since the ASB?

Castro's high point was slashing .290/.337/.470 back on July 5. Since then: .185/.270/.200. The 11% walk rate is really weird. BABIP is only .226, so it might just be bad luck, but I don't watch enough games to know what he's actually looked like.

the .015 isolated power is pretty impressive. off the top of my head, all that looks like a line for a guy who is being thrown very little that he can hit and taking more walks than we might expect him to but still swinging at (and making weak contact with) a whole bunch of garbage.
