We really have been playing better lately. I wish we had an actual outfield. Iowa has a barren wasteland of an OF too - Brett Jackson is finished.

Also I saw Dallas Beeler is tabbed to start one of the Saturday DH games....I thought we were going to call up Wada since we put him on the 40 man?

I would imagine optioning him back to Iowa would be a problem and since it's just a one day thing Beeler is getting the call. Once Hammel and/or Shark are gone I'd bet Wada is the first option since it would be more of a rest of the season type situation.

Yeah, they are probably just using that new "if you have a DH, you can call a guy up for just that game" rule that was enacted last year.

They are. Rotations match up better for Beeler than Wada.

I doubt optioning him back would be an issue considering he already was optioned after being added to the 40 man.

I was outside of Wrigley a little before noon meeting a friend for lunch and we ran into Roark on his way in by the Billy/Santo statues. He was a pretty cool guy. It's easy to fall into the "oh, these guys are baseball players, not REAL athletes"-thing and then you meet someone like that and you realize he's a [expletive] professional athlete and I'm a big fat slob.

He was on the same college staff as matt garza, so mildly surprising he's not a giant tool

Baker had already reached base twice and thrown out a basestealer, so it was probably my fault to assume anything but negative things for the rest of the day.
