The NBA is currently the least talented it's ever been. There are 0(!!) players from the 50 greatest players ever list playing today.

No. LAC, OKC, GS, SAS, HOU, POR, DAL, and MEM are all clearly better. PHO, DEN, and NO are probably better too. They are closer to the Lakers, SAC, and Utah than they are to any of those other teams

Yeah, nice deal for the Wolves but they aren't making the playoffs. I really like what the SIxers are doing though, assuming Bennett can be saved. They have a ton of talented depth on their frontline.

In a story I read about Paul George changing his jersey number to 13, it said that in order to change numbers you have to buy the remaining stock of your old jersey. That's pretty crazy. Maybe something that everyone knows, but I hadn't heard that before.

Yeah but only if you don't request before the deadline in March and only if you aren't changing teams.

Simmons is fine in print, where I can effectively ignore some of his pompous grandstanding and "look how cute I am" commentary. He's insufferable on t.v. This most recent NBA Draft is a great example. Bilas looked like he wanted to rip his head off. Someone should do a gif of that happening.

Simmons is horrible. Maybe the show will be ok. Maybe the show will be ok who knows. I won't watch it probably because there is literally nothing the show can do that will be better than nbatv gametime and it will assuredly be on at the same time as gametime. For highlights live look-ins, player interviews and color commentary game time blows away anything on other channels.

 

The grant land show will probably be like the basketball jones show, and I'm not really that interested in that show which has the advantage of not having Simmons involved

I liked him and defended him until he started showing up on TV. you are right he is insufferable on TV. He turned into the type of talking head personalities he based for years like Kornheiser and Rick Reilly. I almost feel like ESPN told him to play that role on air.

 

Anyways I still enjoy his columns and occasionally his podcasts. Also grantland overall is pretty good so I guess he should get some credit for that.

I liked his NBA vids with Jalen Rose but that was because all his arrogance was in jest with Rose laughing at it. On ESPN he is annoying but left to his own I found him funny.

FIBA World Cup has been mildly interesting. The field is still uneven to the point where a lot of these games are no contest, but Brazil v Spain should be one of the better games until the final.
