Alcantara's numbers have trended downward each month, so I'm not a proponent of bringing him up right now. There just really aren't any options that are even decent down there right now. If Barney can look less incompetent at the plate, then he's the best of a bunch of bad options.

 

 

That's not correct. His May was better than April and he was on fire (10 for his last 25) until yesterday.

His overall numbers for June look down, though

Looked too quickly. I saw the avg was way down and missed the overall May numbers, but June hasn't been good for him.

We're only 10 games into June and he started it with an 0-13 stretch. Not saying those ABs don't count but saying "in June" is an arbitrary sample. He's been hitting well lately.

Kalish as a bridge to Sweeney makes sense to me.

 

Sweeney was dropped from the Kane County game after being in the original lineup. Might not need a Kalish bridge after all.

 

Side note, I can't imagine Alcantra is an option yet.
