Here's to fun baseball returning to Chicago at long last. So many, many times have stood on the red line platform in the late afternoon - North leads to Wrigley Field. South leads to Hammond Horseshoe Casino. Been going south for such a long time.

Couldn't watch much of yesterday's game, but it seemed to me there was a legitimate "buzz" with the crowd in the ninth that I couldn't remember feeling in quite some time. Guess that's what winning will do, huh? But, I guess have just been me and my newfound optimism.

 

Cubs win 5-2. Arrieta finally couples his plus stuff with actual efficiency. Castro and Rizzo both 2-4 with a double a piece. Valbuena hits a dong. The Goony train keeps rolling. Fun times.

I'm actually okay with this alignment because it doesn't go immediate black hole if the pitcher manages to get by Rizzo and Castro without and damage done. Having that gaping hole in the 5 spot has been killing them and while Luis doesn't hit for much average, I at least feel like we have a chance when he's up there.
