Any chance Ellory Jimenez (sp?) makes the team?

I am getting excited about another Boise season.

Any news on who will be on the team?

No official news but the big prospect names will likely be Jeffrey Baez, Erick Leal and Trevor Clifton. Obviously you should see some of the college draftees there (some will stay longer than others) like Schwarber, Stinnett, Zagunis and Norwood.

There's a chance prospects like Gleyber Torres, Roney Alcala, Ryan McNeil, Jose Paulino, Josh Conway or Trey Masek show up too.

Final extended spring training stats: http://www.thecubreporter.com/06082014/2014-cubs-extended-spring-training-final-stats#more

Jeffrey Baez posted a >.900 OPS (12 BB, 15 K). And Gleyber Torres, as a 17-year old posted this line: .311/.402/.396. 14 BB and 21 K in 123 PA. Sure wouldn't complain if Torres somehow broke camp and headed to Boise (though it seems unlikely).

Eloy:

ELOY JIMENEZ (RF-CF)

261/289/402

LAST 10 GAMES: 297/324/778

97 PA (26 GAMES)

24-92 - 5 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 21 RBI, 8 R, 4 BB, 23 K, 1 SF, 1 SB (3 CS)

Trevor Clifton had 34 K/11 BB in 26.2 IP. Probably the most interesting arm headed to Boise.

is Scott Frazier hurt? I'd assume he'd be at Boise after his disastrous KC debut.

No. He's been throwing on the side, working on whatever it is he needs to to try and fix his control. He made his only actual extended spring training appearance last week.

The initial Boise roster should be released this evening.

Thanks, Cal. Looks like a potentially interesting pool of pitchers. Some of the pitchers may have an opportunity to experience a bit of what it's like to be a big-league pitcher for the Cubs: very little run support! That roster looks really bad for run production. Baez and that's it, right? Schwarber/Zagunis might help a bit later on.

Kevin Brown and Zak Blair should be good for Boise's offense even though they're not really prospects.
