The writer does realize that Montenegro isn't in Spain, right?

Mirotic has been in Spain since at least 2006 and is a naturalized Spanish citizen. I believe it's a clarification since people aren't sure where he's from.

Right, but he's not from Spain and Montenegro is in the former Yugoslavia. Geography lesson alert.

And where did anyone say otherwise?

which is why KC is trying to clear it up for them (i could see how the wording might be poor for someone who doesn't know where montenegro is)

In related news, there's a pretty big ensconced Serbian population in Chicago, I had some friends of Serbian descent in college, who are very proud if their heritage, but Serbians still give me the [expletive] creeps.

I dated a girl from Bosnia for awhile, she was a firecracker (no disrespect to fire or crackers).

Ethnically, not all Montenegrins are Serbian, so it's a valid clarification on the writer's part.

.@PhilHecken @sportslogosnet NBA teams will have a gold "mark" on the back collar if the franchise has a title:

Let's go through some of the most ridiculous examples, if they really intend to go by franchise. The Thunder get one because they are technically the same franchise that won a single championship, 36 years ago, half a country away (SuperSonics). Atlanta Hawks get one because of the St. Louis Hawks in 1958. Kings get one because of the Rochester Royals in 1951.

Teams that haven't won a championship

Phoenix Suns

Utah Jazz

Cleveland Cavaliers

Indiana Pacers

Dallas Mavericks

New Orleans Pelicans

Charlotte Hornets

Minnesota Timberwolves

Orlando Magic

Memphis Grizzlies

Toronto Raptors

OKC hasn't won one, but Seattle did.

Sacremento hasn't, but did as the Rochester Royals.

Atlanta Hawks haven't, but did in STL.

Washington Wizards haven't, but Washington Bullets have.

While we're at it, how about a scarlet "L" on the shorts if the franchise has ever led the league in losses.

The possibilities are endless.

And other recent titles like the Pistons for example where nobody associated with that franchise was involved in the winning of a championship for that franchise. Just a really stupid thing.

also i just realized that since the Thunder currently have the sonics records (until seattle gets a team or KD leaves and the thunder go back cause no one cares anymore) we would have a gold mark lmao

It's a fun idea to me, but the implementation is a little off. Need a way to designate multiple titles.

You might as well get one for each title. The first team to get a full circle around the neck wins and the league disbands.

Just should make the non title franchises play pantsless. That goes for the coach and GM too.

i like weird [expletive] like that so im in

I like it too, but I think it should only be titles won in the current city, and there should be one gold thing for each title won, making the Celtics look fugly for all of eternity (Lakers will look fine because it matches)

Actually nevermind, a more brilliant thing would be to put that gold thing on individual players that win a title, one for each one they've won. This way, its a new jersey every fan has to go out and buy every time the player wins the title. Because you don't want to be the loser rocking an MJ jersey with only 4 things on it. The NBA makes more money!

Also the NBA is a team game with the most individualism in it, the players will love getting rewarded with a badge of honor that they wear the rest of their careers no matter where they go.

you should get one player that looks and dresses like Xerxes from 300 for each title won. You can dress any of your players up on any given night, but you always have to have one per title. If you are the Celtics, everyone is Xerxes all the time.
