the most painful thing is that we killed off 2.5 minutes of 5 on 3, and then killed off 4 minutes and 50 seconds of power play and almost stole an undeserved victory before getting the rug pulled out from under us. To compound the pain, we previously gave up a goal with less than a second left in the 1st period and were 1:45 from winning game 1 before conceding the tying goal and subjecting me to an additional 2 hours of hockey before letting me down.

 

I know everyone already knows this [expletive], but it makes me feel better to type it all out.

St louis teams against Chicago teams never ever lose.

I am shocked about the Hawks lack of discipline. I think one of their hallmarks is that while other teams have gone stupid(Canucks), the Hawks have maintained their cool and used the stupid against the other team.

 

Seabrook's hit was shocking in its stupidity.

 

That said the Hawks PK has been amazing. I think that has to be a great sign going forward. But I think their Defense's BABIP on shots from point is unsustainable.

Honestly? I wouldn't even care. I honestly thought Hossa was dead when it happened to him in the playoffs. I cringe every time I see Toews take a hit. Did you see the way Backes kept trying to stand up but couldn't? These guys are doing serious, long-term brain injury to each other and it's not fun to watch when they do. The suspensions we have aren't working.

 

And that is literally the last thing I'll say on the subject so we can go back to rooting for the Hawks. If we score here, we win this series in five.

I agree. Completely uncalled for. And when most teams go stupid its when they are either trying to establish a tone in a game/series or when they are losing big and trying to goon it up. The Hawks took the damn lead in a critical playoff game and the preceded to goon it up. WTH?

So many negative emotions I'm dealing with. First the fact that were down 0-2. Then the fact that it's to a St. Louis team. Thn the fact that we were a combined 1:51 away from being up 2-0. Mix that in with the fact that the Hawks completely lost their composure and are decidedly the bad guys to everyone watching and the finally we are the bad guys and the good guys are laughing at us in victory anyways.
