I think like most sports though, sometimes you make your own breaks. Officials tend to make calls that favor teams who are playing with a lot of confidence. Lucky bounces happen because you usually have players in the right spots. So on and So on. And I have always thought that winning the cup does take a certain amount of random luck

 

That was a horrific no call. The Rangers got screwed but at the same time champions overcome those types of things.

Agreed. They were the best team this year, hard as it is to admit.

 

Yet to do it they needed to be the 5th team ever in NA sports history to overcome a 3-0 series deficit, overcome a 3-2 series deficit in the 2nd round, win a game 7 on the road against the defending champs, and then coast through the Eastern champ (i forgot who already)

they deserve to win it because they played the best in the most important 2 months, but i don't think they were the best team. they're probably bounced in the first round if not for the vlasic assassination. yes i'm bitter. they are threatening the hawks dynasty chances.

Hard to stomach that game 7 OT loss seeing what just happened here. But the Kings were clearly a top team, they kept coming back over and over. Just no stopping them this year.

who do you think was better? I dont put much creedence at all in the regular season for teams that are playing deep into the playoffs every year. I get they were almost bounced in each of the first 3 rounds but that just shows you how good the west was.

if we're assuming every team is at their best, the bruins and hawks are better than the kings, and maybe san jose
