I'm excited to find out which Cardinal hits the walkoff this inning.

It's also nice that relievers are so reliably predictable and good, so that's why they pitch in relief.

That's simply not true. Most of them it's because they don't have a quality 3rd pitch to be a starter.

He's being a smart-ass.

If finding relievers is so damn hard then why do the same few organizations always seem to have good ones? And if our guys are so smart, how come our bullpen's been a crater of awful for 3 years?

NSBB 2004-2011: We need to rebuild.

NSBB 2012-2014: BAWWWW Why are we rebuilding?!?!

Nobody on nsbb ever wanted to rebuild

Also you can rebuild without tanking for 3 years

Not with a declining payroll and very little talent. I get this [expletive] is frustrating and I'm not a Renteria fan at all currently, but if Starlin gets fixed, Olt becomes a legit starter and Rizzo progresses, this team can contend in 2015 with a sub 100 mill payroll.

Really, you're going to sit there and say it's not true that relievers are the most volatile and unpredictable position in baseball?

Because most teams don't have utter garbage in their upper minor leagues for 3 straight years.

I chose to spend my night watching this mess.

Misery loves company.

Renteria is insufferable already. What did Theo see in this guy? I MISS SVEUM

He was the 3rd choice after Girardi and Lovullo

I didn't say that at all. I said that most of them are relievers because they don't have a quality 3rd pitch. It's absolutely the most unpredictable position in the game.

Are you really that dense, or just drunk tonight? The Yankees had a good one for so long because of Rivera. The Cards have a good one because they have an entire farm system so chock full of arms they can afford to use their top prospect as a setup man and it is still a good idea.

The Cubs finally are in a spot where they have a bunch of major league ready semi-young arms in the minors, but 10 days into the season is far to early to torpedo the entire pen and start over.

You still have not enough pitching and Olt isn't becoming a legit starter.

He's just keeping the seat warm for Kris Bryant.
