NFL will outlaw dunking the football over the goalpost. Will be a penalty next year.

I feel like they've been waiting to make this a rule once Tony Gonzalez officially retired.

Yeah, but PFT thinks it was more of a "jimmy graham broke the goalpost" thing.

I figured that would be cited, but I've felt this rule was coming for a few years.

The unintended consequence of so much high-profile football is that fans are now becoming in tune with how much control the referees exercise over the outcome of games.

I love the NFL, but the nature of pass interference/holding/roughing the passer means the officials are going to be a major part of the outcome of a game. Now all of these non-football related penalties are going to make them even more of a focal point. Aggravating.

I stopped reading after this:

For example, there's a reason smart women and men choose lovemaking in the dark and a fair amount of foreplay. We understand the dangers of overexposure and "anticipointment," the anticipation of disappointment.

Not everyone looks like a beached whale, Jason!

Pretty good WR out there:

@WillBrinson: Eagles announce they cut DeSean Jackson. Wow.

Weird because reportedly there was interest from other teams in trading for him but the Eagles decided to cut him outright and take on his $6m cap hit. There's something missing here...

Alright, on the one hand that just screams "DO NOT WANT" as loud as you possibly could...but then the evidence presented by the detective sounds like the kind of complaining my grandmother does about "those people." I'm assuming that the really good [expletive] isn't going to be revealed in an ongoing investigation, and the Eagles' actions seems to speak volumes, but damn, that was weak so far.

Also, the name of Jackson's record label—Jaccpot—because, according to Crosson, "Crips avoid putting a 'C' next to a 'K' because in gangspeak, that stands for 'Crip Killer.'"

Yeah, all the "evidence" alluded to just seemed like #whitepeoplefear

Chris Johnson officially cut.

Where are his potential landing spots? Would be a great backup to Forte :)

The New York teams are both interested. The Jets, Falcons, Bills, and Dolphins all talked trade for him.

Champ Bailey signed a 2-year deal with the Saints.

Local radio here is saying that he has agreed to play at least some safety. This makes me wonder if they're worried about Vaccaro's ankle being healthy.

The Dolphins could give themselves a solid backfield with CJ and Knowshon. I'd have no problems bringing CJ in to back up Forte either

Serious question. Do you really think CJ would sign anywhere where he'd be a back up?
