Anyone know what the defensive FA class looks like for 2015?

It's the NFL, anybody could be a free agent next year.

Suh, McCoy, Earl Thomas, Orakpo, Alex Mack, Greg Hardy, Rolle, Haden, Revis, Von Miller, Dareus, Devin McCourty, Patrick Peterson, Aldon Smith.

Everyone from the loaded 2010 draft.

You forgot the #1 FA IMO...

Saw this on reddit. Apparently Jay Cutler has the highest cap hit in the NFL next year at 22.5 mil.

Here is the top 25:

I either broke the site, or the Steelers are in for a world of hurt in 2017 if they don't cut Antonio Brown by then.

Hopefully that's not all guaranteed. $217m is a lot for a wide receiver.

“We gave them a chance to make an offer, and they said they would wait to see what the market was and we don’t do business like that,” Melton said. “They dropped out early.”

According to a source familiar with the situation, the Bears never really ever entered the derby because they didn’t make an offer.

Asked about Melton at the start of free agency, Emery said he “pretty much left it with [agent] Jordan [Woy] that [Melton] was gonna go through [the free-agent] process, and when he got through it, and he had a pretty good idea of what his market is, we could talk at that time.”

Upon learning of those remarks, the source said, “If you want to sign someone badly enough, you make offers and don’t wait.”

Hah what a douche.

Just seems like another article trying to sensationalize something that had actually very little drama.

Melton didn't get an offer from the Bears. He went on the interview trail and signed somewhere else. Big deal.

Of course Emery wasn't falling all over himself to make Melton offers. He just got done paying him a whole bunch, for essentially no return on the investment. Big surprise there.

No, it's nothing you said.

Just rubs me the wrong way when these articles come out that try to pick out bad feelings and make something of them. I'm sure I'm way too sensitive to it, but it's just like -- give it a rest, players move around.

I don't think they were trying to get a negative reaction from him...just trying to figure out what happened. I get what you're saying, when they try to twist guys words to show some kind of animosity that may not really exist, but I think it does in this case. I don't think Melton was thrilled with the franchise tag last year, and I think he's really thought he was deserving of a bigger long term deal than the Bears thought he was worth.

I can't remember if this has been discussed, but I went there too.

Long has sent a couple tweet out on NN... He was working out there for a while. And I have no idea why.

I can't remember either. Just remember that you went to NU and we'd talk about Kyle Orton making the rounds on Sherman and hooking up with random NU girls.

As for why, I'm guessing just convenience. He lives at Optima (the condos right across the street from Lifetime) and probably has privacy there.

Ah that makes sense.

And I'll never forget Orton and the Bears hitting up the Keg then driving drunk back to my dorm. There's a photo somewhere of Hunter Hillenmeyer completely hammered standing in my old hallway.

Also, is the Keg still around?

Last I heard, some people got shot there.

I haven't been to Evanston in forever. I always kinda hated The Keg....worst table service ever. If you actually wanted food or beer, you HAD to order at the bar, because everyone sitting at tables was basically ignored

Used to go there in the summer now and then because it was close to home. Was always packed with underagers. Don't think I ever sat at a table there. Barely had room to stand. Was a hot sweaty nightmare and the watered down domestic drafts didn't do much to help.

I graduated from NN in 2005.

The Keg was an awesome college bar, the shooting was in the summer of 2005, it didn't allow 18+ after, and is now closed.

And yeah, definitely not a place I want for table service of any kind or any day outside of Monday or Thursday, when all of NU was there.

The Keg is apparently opening back up. Lord, that place was a pit.

I don't remember there being any good bars in Evanston. Then again, the Evanston residents have done everything in their old-money power to make life as boring and terrible as possible for Northwestern students, so.....
