Is it really that crazy?

Behind = throw more

Bears are 4-2 when Marshall has 100 yards.

4-4 when he doesn't.

Yeah but he started as and has, for the most part, been the primary target.

The #2 guy getting big yards would seem to imply that you're throwing even more.

I'm not saying this is all necessarily true or anything, but I'm saying it doesn't shock me at all. Hell, Jeffery's two monster games have been losses and the NO game we pretty much trailed the whole way and by the second half didn't really have much of a shot at winning.

The gist I got from that is that its more likely Flynn starts Sunday not Rodgers. Wouldnt he be taking first team reps if he was aiming to start?

That's why he said it's great news for the Bears.

I read that wrong, my bad.

Lets hope the Packers lose and the Bears win this weekend so we don't have to worry about Rodgers at Soldier Field for a spot in the playoffs.

I don't understand how you can read that wrong. What was so confusing about it? #gettinmygoonyon

I've heard a few Packers fans say there's never been a plan to bring him back this year, that it's all a smoke screen by McCarthy to keep his opponents guessing.

Even if that's untrue, I rather the Bears face him in his 1st game back than his 2nd.

Apparently Packers fans are rooting for the Bears this weekend. For the Packers to make the playoffs, they have to win out anyway. If the Bears win, the Packers can get a #3 seed. If the Eagles win, the Packers can only get a #4 seed.

I doubt many will actively root for the Bears, even though it makes sense.

Definitely some debate about it on the Packers forums.

Ya know, Rodgers doesn't really have a huge history of torching the Bears. Finley, Jennings, Cobb, and Driver are the guys that have destroyed the Bears in the middle of the field in the recent history against them.

Plus, maybe Rodgers keeps them from going to the run as much, which plays into the Bears hands.

maybe by his standards. by compared to matt flynn standards (or really the nfl in general) he's been great against them.

and that's against much much much better defenses.

The pass D hasn't been that bad this year. About what its been for the last few years. Point is, I don't see Rodgers going 350, 4 TDs against the Bears in the air. It's not like going from Tebow to Peyton Manning.

The Bears problem beating them in the past has been the lack of offense. I like the Bears chances this year, healthy Rodgers or not.

Maybe our sudden terribleness will surprise him into mistakes.

I'd say it's significantly worse... the pass rush is weak and we aren't getting as many takeaways as a result.

Bears Pass Defense DVOA Rank

2013 - 14

2012 - 1

2011 - 8

2010 - 5

2009 -22 (the urlacher-less year and pre-peppers)

I hate to go all Goony, but 3 "muchs" wasn't really accurate either. Rodgers isn't going to do significantly more damage this year than he has done the last 3-4 years vs. the Bears D. And I think the decline in the Bears pass D is partially combatted by the Packers missing the weapons that I named earlier.

i am personally of the school of thought that it doesn't really matter who aaron rodgers is throwing to.

Our main problem with GB since Cutler got here is that he plays atrociously against them, for whatever reason.

Average QB rating of 60.5 against them in seven regular season starts. 31.8 in the playoff game before getting hurt.

Of course he has no excuse to suck against them anymore.

Clay Matthews will be going up against a guy who isn't named Webb.
