Marshall still has a solid 3 years left IMO. His game isnt predicated on speed or explosiveness as much as say, a Desean Jackson or AJ Green.

Bingo. I would give restructure his contract this offseason and feel confident enough to add 3-4 more years for an extension. You can always just cut him that last year (assuming his cap hit isn't like Peppers) if he isn't performing. He got the skill set to last longer than most WRs, but the only questions will be injuries (like every other WR/player) and his size (staying in great shape).

There's also the question of his mental state.

Has he had any problem ever since he found about BPD? Did he know about it before or after the incident in Miami when he was at the bar with his wife? It was during the time he got traded. I can't remember exactly when he knew he has BPD, but he seems like a completely changed man ever since he found out so I'm not as worried about this as others would be.

All of that in the first year of Trestman's offense, with a large percentage of the snaps being taken by a backup journeyman QB. Imagine years 2 and 3 with a healthy AJ McCarron.

Fixed for ya.

I'm still in denial. I don't want to part with my Have a Nice Jay, and Jay Cutty is my Buddy t-shirts...

I'll never part with this

Playing hypothetical. So do the Saints let Jimmy Graham walk? If so, does Phil Emery just open the checkbook and make the offense that much better?

I'd rather go after one of the topnfree agents at a position of need like Jairus Byrd or Alteraun Verner.

Verner was such a great target before this season. To reference te baseball thread, he was Chase Headley before the breakout season. Now he's been one of the top CBs in the league and will probably get the biggest CB deal of any FA this offseason.

Paea and Ratliff out, Steltz questionable and McClellin, Frey and Mills are probable.

Ratliff looks to be on track for next week, I believe. Heard nothing on Briggs in weeks though. Wonder when he can be expected back.

Convenient timing for Ratliff to be back one week before the game against Dallas

Prices are staying a lot higher for this game than I thought they would. Guess Rams STHs are making back some of their shitty investment.

Man, no kidding. I was hoping to get to that game all year and have checked StubHub every week. Tickets have barely been below $100 each. I guess my couch wins this one.

I'd be willing to bet you can get a pretty solid deal if you go down there on Sunday. I'm thinking about it. I'm guessing a lot of people are trying to take advantage of the Chicago factor and have way over priced their seats hoping to make a buck.

My biggest concern in this game is the other shoe dropping on McCown. Hes played well, but he's not a guy that can really carry a team to a 3-0 record, along with 2 near final drive comebacks. He didn't really play all that well last week. Mistake free football is the key though.

But I think the defense and special teams need to step up today. The Rams and Stacy are a volume rising team. Only getting 3.8 ypc (4.2 for Stacy though). Despite the big plays from Austin when they last played, they don't get very many big plays. Despite the holes in the run game, the Bears do make their share of plays in the backfield. And they've been keeping the ball in front of them in the pass game recently. Clemens is really terrible and can't throw the ball accurately down the field. So tackling will be key for the defense. The DTs still stink, but the Rams don't have dominant guards. This is set up to be the best game the defense has had all year. But if they can't tackle underneath, it could be business as usual for the opposing offense. But I also think the offense could struggle a little as the Rams have had 2 weeks to prepare for McCown exclusively.

I had a dream last night that the Bears were winning 16-0 at halftime and Marc Trestman came over to my house to hang out. Then we were like [expletive] halftime's almost over we gotta get you back to the game but we didn't know the way to the stadium so we stopped off at some random basketball arena and we got a table at the restaurant there and then Marc disappeared. I went upstairs and I found him in the bathroom in the bathtub and I thought he was talking to coach Cromer and calling in the plays, but he was muttering to himself and weeping softly. Does that mean anything?

Depends - were his teeth falling out? Were yours?

Yeah, I figure a McCown letdown has to happen sooner or later. Hope it's not this week.
