For what? Best I can find as an expiring contract is Shawn Marion, so you get a 1st rounder from Dallas for him and some cap space?

kendrick perkins, a draft pick or trade exception and perry jones, ok nice

What if you make it Jeremy Lamb. I heard he's the next James Harden, and Perkins will be an expiring contract for the 2015 offseason after Rose recovers from whatever his next injury is.

seems unnecessary

Cowherd saying rumors swirling around Luol Deng for Gasol. True?

Simmons had a podcast last week and he had a LA writer on, he threw out Gasol for Deng and 1 of Gibson/Boozer just as a hypothetical and the writer said that it was definitely something being discussed.

If the season ended today, the Bulls wouldn't make the playoffs.

If the season ended today, there likely wouldn't be any playoffs.

Have to keep losing. Given how bunched up all of the bad teams are in the East, trading Deng at the deadline should help the Bulls move up a number of spots in the lottery.

Yea I was anti-tank but presuming they currently aren't tanking and these are the results, my tune is changing. But we need to go at it hard, including looking to dump money cuz I'm still worried about Reinsdorf cheaping-out due to lack of playoff revenue. Can't plan on amnestyIng Boozer; needs to be a strict salary dump.

And I think about trading Noah if I can get a relatively unprotected pick, like 3/1/0 and other stuff.

Oh and trade Thibs too. If the lotto luck doesn't work (top 2 for me) I'm looking to pull more of a Celtics quick retool with much better assets than they had.

If we're just playing for the lotto tank I still don't like the odds enough. Set ourselves up with several options.

It's a more well put together version of exactly what Bernstein has been saying on the radio, and it's hard to disagree with anything he says there.

Do we think Rose actually is complaining?

Him or his camp are. And he's responsible for their behavior. At the very least, Rose is losing control of his image.

"Complaining while not playing is a bad look for someone who has sold a phony reputation as a humble, team-oriented kid."

So he writes this entire article on this premise, which is based on a New York Daily news article, which is based on something Rose reportedly told his friends in confidence.

Got it. That is the worst.

A little over the top but both sides should just be looking out for themselves.

Is Rose doing that though? Presuming the Daily News article is correct, how is that Rose looking out for himself? Isn't it in his best interest to build this team for the future where he's actually playing basketball?

[expletive] that's spot on. I'm not really anti-Derrick Rose or anything Bernstein addresses several issues that bother me. And I didn't realize the rift between BJ and Pax for some reason. I've been saying this for a couple years, but I think there's a pretty decent chance Derrick is gone in a couple of years, whether its because he leaves on his own, or never recovers fully from his injuries and is let go.

Handwringing over whether or not he's still a "humble hometown kid" is just primo meatballery, but the other main point about how it's pretty ridiculous that Rose (and/or his people) are griping about what the Bulls need to do now that he's had a catastrophic injury yet again is right on.

Thats exactly where I'm at too, even down to not knowing about Pax and BJ.

Honestly though, I think the Bulls are in complete limbo as far as what to do moving forward. Sure, bring Mirotic over. That's an easy decision. But NOTHING else is. Keep Deng? I guess it makes sense if you think Rose can stay healthy, but how is that even a remote possibility? Not him staying healthy, but thinking for sure that he will.....Amnesty Boozer? Still doesn't give you space to get a max guy and even if you COULD get one, does one of those guys truly want to tie up 5 years hoping Rose can stay healthy? Seems like there would be clearer ways for them to join a contender to me, not even accounting for the fact Rose won't recruit to begin with.

Hell, I saw an article a few days ago mentioning it may be possible to trade Thibs for a lottery pick. I dismissed it, but if a team was stupid enough to offer one up, you'd HAVE to do it, right?

Well he at least thinks he is.

He is wrong, I agree with that but if he doesn't think so, well whatcha gonna do

Absolutely, especially a lotto pick in this years draft.

No one is going to offer a lottery pick for Thibs, especially not in this year's draft.

I was saying IF someone would offer you a lotto you absolutely do it. Not that I think it's realistic or a reasonable return for Thibs.
