I'll be at the game tonight in Port Charlotte, if there is any video or pics that you would like to see just let me know, I would be glad to take them.

Can't wait to see Black again, he has been dealing.

If they're winning in the 9th, would love to have some video of the last out.

Tennessee up 10-7 in the 9th. They've given up 3 so far in the 9th and are trying to stave off elimination.

Daytona up 2-0 in the 7th. If they hold on, they win the FSL.

Boise down 4-1 in the 7th. If they come back, they win the NWL. If they lose, it forces a 3rd and deciding game.

Daytona's scoreless streak ends on a solo HR after 43 freaking innings. And....

One final rain delay, for old time's sake.

The rains came with Charlotte having a runner at second and 1 out in the 8th. Daytona protesting a 2-1 lead.

Also, here's what you can do during the Daytona rain delay:

Tennessee wins and Boise loses so their seasons come down to a devising game tomorrow.

Because of the lack of depth caused by all those Hawks not being allowed into Canada, pitcher Sam Wilson played in CF from the 5th to the 8th and infielder David Bote played CF in the 8th.

no wonder vancouver does so well in the NWL; opposing teams are missing half their players when they travel there.

:)

To be fair, Bote has played CF before.

Being at the game, I took plenty of video of all the Cubs pitchers. Black was good for most of the night. Effectively wild is how I would put it. He looked more comfortable in the windup and had more control issues when from the stretch (missing high with his fastball). His fastball had good movement sitting 91-95 thru the night averaging around 92-93. His slider was good, 83-87 mph and his changeup was mediocre at 78-82. He tired and looked it when pulled after the first batter in the 7th.

Bryant looked adequate in the field, strong arm, had a few plays where he tried to ole'd the ball and missed once in the 2nd. Vogelbach has such a strong plate presence, covers alot of the dish and has a good eye; in his first at bat of the night he took a pitch outside and roped it into leftfield for the game's first run.

Lorick was 88-90, topping at 92, didn't look too smooth and the control wasn't there. He's the one who finally stopped the scoreless streak by our staff. The rain delay didn't seem to help but honestly Reed and Cates both looked bad out there last night.

Highlight of the game was Zeke DeVoss throwing out Ryan McChesney at the plate. In my opinion, it looked like he was safe and we got away with the call. Their couch then threw a temper tantrum and was ejected.

Hopefully we can end it all tonight with CJ pitching

Thanks much, Bob. Not sure how many of the other four starters. But I think Edwards, Johnson, Black, Pineyro, and Wells are all interesting to varying degree. I'm curious what your observations are on the other four? I'll guess, and if you were willing I'd like to see how you'd modify/correct misconceptions?

Black: 92-93 average, good fastball movement, good slider, mediocre change, mediocre control.

Edwards: 91-93 average, pretty similar to Black? fastball movement also good; somehow more deceptive/explosive? Is he more curve or slider, or who knows? Whatever it is, it's more deceptive and obviously a much superior putaway K-pitch? Much better control of all his stuff? Velocity fades some after three innings?

Johnson: Not quite as fast as Edwards/Black, but maybe average 90-92? Does he hold his velocity a little better?

Pineyro: He's been good, but I have less guess on him. Touches 93, averages 89-91, with good control and movement? A pretty good slider? Or am I underestimating his arm strength?

Wells: Averages 88-91, although maybe touches 93 on occasion? Pretty heavy 2-seam movement? Breaking ball so-so?
