Being at the game, I took plenty of video of all the Cubs pitchers. Black was good for most of the night. Effectively wild is how I would put it. He looked more comfortable in the windup and had more control issues when from the stretch (missing high with his fastball). His fastball had good movement sitting 91-95 thru the night averaging around 92-93. His slider was good, 83-87 mph and his changeup was mediocre at 78-82. He tired and looked it when pulled after the first batter in the 7th. Bryant looked adequate in the field, strong arm, had a few plays where he tried to ole'd the ball and missed once in the 2nd. Vogelbach has such a strong plate presence, covers alot of the dish and has a good eye; in his first at bat of the night he took a pitch outside and roped it into leftfield for the game's first run. Lorick was 88-90, topping at 92, didn't look too smooth and the control wasn't there. He's the one who finally stopped the scoreless streak by our staff. The rain delay didn't seem to help but honestly Reed and Cates both looked bad out there last night. Highlight of the game was Zeke DeVoss throwing out Ryan McChesney at the plate. In my opinion, it looked like he was safe and we got away with the call. Their couch then threw a temper tantrum and was ejected. Hopefully we can end it all tonight with CJ pitching
