how was that cruz td not a "process" td like calvin johnson's? caught the ball in midair, got both feet down, reached out with the ball and dropped it when it hit the ground

Presumably they consider the lunge a 'football move'? I don't know.

ill never get it i guess. the johnson one was exactly the same, except he wasn't hit by a defender.

I think the NFL is either getting dangerously close to a rules problem, or they've crossed the line and have a rules problem.

There are certain areas of the game, such as this one, which I don't think have adequate, clear explanations.

Manning face 6 hit combo

My 6yo's soccer team got shut out on saturday and I saw the same face on at least three of those kids. "It's not fair!!"

So the Cowboys totally got away with a roughing the punter. It was blatantly obvious and I loved how Collinsworth defended the ref who claimed the punter spun around to get roughed.

Cruz made a football move. He landed and re-positioned/redirected his body and the ball to try and get the football across the plane. Johnson's natural momentum took in deeper into the end zone and to the ground. No football move.

First thing that comes to mind for me is what a cluster [expletive] of "body language" discussion we'd have to endure if Cutler ever reacted like that.

Rings matter.

I hear ya, and if I were a Bears fan I would probably say the same thing, but if Cutler had a Super Bowl ring that conversation wouldn't be happening.

Sept 9 (Reuters) - A San Francisco 49ers football fan fell from an elevated walkway to his death on Sunday at Candlestick Park during the team's NFL season home opener, police said on Monday.

The San Francisco medical examiner is expected to identify the man, who several witnesses have said appeared to be drunk, in the coming days, police spokesman Gordon Shyy said.

The man, in his 30s, fell about 1:30 p.m. PDT (2030 GMT) from an elevated pedestrian walkway to the sidewalk as the game against the Green Bay Packers was starting, Shyy said. He did not know how far the man fell.

He said off-duty medics and police officers administered first-aid until an ambulance arrived, but the man's injuries were severe and he was pronounced dead.

The San Francisco County medical examiner will release the man's name "in a couple of days" after relatives are notified, Shyy said.

As jersey suggested, that just further illustrates the point. You can win Super Bowls regardless of body language, but somehow stupid people don't get it, and continue to make a huge issue out of it when Cutler doesn't look all chipper and happy -- as if that's what makes the difference.

Speaking of being chipper and happy, Cutler was joking around and laughing with guys on the field after the "wasted" timeout in the 4th. I wonder what that was about.

Also, apparently Cutler went out of his way to tell Mills and Long how great they did, praised the O-line in the postgame, and Marshall and Maneri were raving about how great Jay was in the huddle and on the sidelines, saying he really was showing great leadership.

Not saying I agree with the media at all, just illustrating how much weight is put on championships. Hell, if Eli hadn't won his rings the media would all over him like Sanchez, worse than Romo. "The little brother in the shadow of his older star brother and Hall of Fame father." ESPN would be all over that [expletive].

If you make a "football" move, then you have maintain possession through the entire process of said "football move" right or am I wrong?

Rewatched the Mills/Mauleauga play, Jay grabs Mills right away extracts him from the situation, says something to him and taps him on the helmet.
