Mike and Mike, who aren't actually that bad,

Oh god yes they are that bad. I listened to them for nearly a year (probably because I thought it was cool that Greeny interviewed me when I was in high school), without really listening all that closely. Eventually I realized just how terrible those two shills are. They do occasionally take a fairly rational stance on something, but they are more or less a PR team with a radio show.

lol, or not.

Jason Goff @Jason1Goff · 6s

"@Jdona88: @Jason1Goff is the big announcement at 3pm today?" For me? No.

Could be moving someone from another show to fill the midday slot announced at 3pm and Goff will fill in the open spot elsewhere, announced at a later time.

So on the score right now they have... Mully and Hanley in the AM, formerly Mac and Spiegs Midday, Boers and Bernstein afternoons, Lawrence Holmes in the evening and creepy Les Grobstein overnight. Boers and Bernstein isn't changing, and Holmes has some 120 sports thing that is taking up his time. So maybe someone from Mully and Hanley moves to midday, and Goff to AMs, announced later?

Jason Goff just tweeted that he's hosting a mid-day show on Sirius XM with Will Carroll on BR radio. That's worth checking out.

The fake laughter just takes me out the minute they have anyone on who remotely tries to be funny.

Holmes said he saw "the big announcement" in the hallways. He said this during transition. Since Abbatacola was sitting right there, that pretty much eliminates him. I think it's gonna be Mannelly.

That would be a [expletive] trainwreck. I feel bad for Abbatacola if he's not getting that shot.

Mannelly's guest hosted a few times with Spiegel, and I really enjoyed it. He'll be great during the Bears season...the question is how he'll be after that.

Reading these kinds of things are definitely one of his strong points.

I heard him attempt to talk about the Bulls a few weeks back and it was a mess. Abbatacola is that bad?

I don't really care because I only listen to B&B via podcast, but in what I've heard from Mannelly, he's been super bland and a little afraid to be critical, especially of old teammates.

Spiegel isn't my favorite either. He and Mannelly can be boring together, I guess. They should have revamped it and gone with something like Laurence Holmes and Matt Bowen. Given Abbatacola the evening gig.

Holmes might be the only one on the Score that I actually enjoy, but I only listen while I'm in my car, so having a tolerable option for the morning drive would be pretty nice. Mike & Mike are just okay, and they get stuck on one topic for what seems like weeks at a time. MLB Network Radio has Hollandsworth and Memolo, so they talk a lot about who doesn't hit well enough with RISP. I've been going with NFL Network Radio lately, which actually isn't bad, but a decent local option would be nice.

I enjoy Spiegel. Enjoyed Mac at times. I like Bernstein when he has someone on that will challenge some of what he says...Boers never does that.

i disagree. Bernstein is at his best when he has a hype-man like Boers backing him up. he really gets the meatballs in a lather.

and yes, if you don't like Bernstein, you're a meatball, sorry.

Can't I just dislike him for being a smarmy [expletive] and a terrible radio personality even if he's right sometimes?

no you cannot

He has to be nice to stone. He is forced to, but there's really no other radio guy that talks about advanced metrics more than Bernstein you freak.

Don Cooper on Mully and Hanley sounding all drunk as [expletive].

That doesn't mean he isn't a douche. Hell, he's a sports radio guy, it is practically a prerequisite.
