We're going to try to bring Carlos Marmol back this offseason. But don't worry, we just want to use his ears as a dome in Daytona.

That'd be quite a haul from Louisville, wouldn't it?

yeah, daytona is gonna be rained out.

can't believe it didn't work out for them to keep rescheduling games to be played at the time of day when it always rains during the summer.

shouldn't the FSL build in some flexibility to its schedule, so that one end of a doubleheader can be played at 9 or 10am when the weather is usually fine?

They actually schedule some games like this earlier in the year (the 10am starts) I dont understand why they don't play some make-up games at that time. How are they going to figure out playoffs with all these rainouts? Seems like a mess.

The 10 am starts are during the school year, to attract kids on field trips. Of course April and May are drier than August...

yeah obviously those starts aren't ideal in terms of getting an attendance, but it's better than continually scheduling games for a time when they'll never be played. at least if the game gets played, some people will turn up and spend money. dunedin is getting $0 from all these games with daytona being canceled.

I'm guessing they do make some money from ticket sales. They just lose out on walk-up sales and in-game concessions.

don't they have to give people their money back when the game doesn't get played?

Daytona is one of 2 FSL teams averaging more than 2000 per game(for reference, the Midwest League has 4 teams below 3000/game). Dunedin specifically is averaging 757 per game. You'd think at a certain point they'd realize they aren't forgoing much and could stand to gain a lot more if people could more reasonably expect the games would actually be played.

Yeah, which is 80% of their game income.

plus maybe the parent organizations could chip in a little cash to cover financial losses by the league from playing games in the morning/early afternoon. all i know is that it can't be great for player development to lose 10-15 games a year due to weather and have a handful of other games shortened to 7 innings.

@WayneRandazzo Albert Almora has gone back home to Florida. He won't be returning to @KCCougars this season. Probably back for instructs and/or AFL. #Cubs

So I'm guessing it wasn't hemorrhoids.

It was a groin injury.

RT @SmokiesonRadio: Javier Baez is pelted with a fastball on the left wrist/forearm as he was swinging. The trainers are looking at him.
