If anyone falls apart, my guess would be the Pirates. No Burnett apparently, and having the most amazingest bullpen performance in the league can be very fickle year to year.

They could regress some, but they still have a lot of young talent and still have a 24 game advantage from last year over us.

Well that's certainly not a thing.

The Reds got a lot worse in losing Choo. I also think the Pirates could easily regress.

They got a LOT worse by losing Choo? I don't think so.

They also improved by ditching Dusty.

Browsing through Redszone, they are convinced that pitching health is going to make them way better than before.

And also some nutjobbery about Hamilton being worth 2 wins on the basepaths *besides* his SB value.

Wait did I miss the argument where the reds didn't get much worse by losing their best offensive player from 13?

Zips comes out tomorrow for the Cubs. WAR graph just posted on Twitter though. Bullpen at 3, Shark-3, Wood and E-Jax at 2, Arrieta and Rusin at 1, Castillo/Kottaras-3, Valbuena/Murphy-3, Castro-3, Barney-2, Rizzo-3, Lake-0, Sweeney/Ruggiano-3, and Schierholtz-1. Edited by davell

Adding it up even though you aren't supposed to and they yell at you if you do, I think that's 74 wins.

Going back to the comment about how they shake out in the NL, that ZiPS makes them better than Miami, New York, and Philadelphia, and very close to Colorado, San Diego, and Milwaukee(who I maintain will get way less than 8 wins from Lohse/Gallardo/Peralta). Kinda weird that they have the platoon wrong though, I wonder if they actually add another win from putting Ruggiano with Schierholtz, or by putting Lake in CF. I also would've guessed a better projection for Villanueva as a SP than Rusin.

Hey, looked at it wrong, Rizzo is a 3, not a 2.....

Nice because that was actually bothering me

Szymborski had some good teases about it:

Also, ZiPS loves Arismendy Alcantara. Enough that if I wonder if him or his agent hired an elite team of hackers to change ZiPS.

If you graphed Brett Jackson's year-by-year projections, it would make a wicked sweet waterslide or downhill ski course.

I suspect people will like the Javier Baez project. At least, Cubs fans.

Is that a cutesy way of referring to Javy's development or are they doing some sort of piece on him or something?

If Edwards starts in aa and pitches like he did last year, he could end the year in Chicago. Unlike Hendricks, I trust the numbers more for CJ. Perhaps it is just because they are so obscene.
