Almora just scalded a ball to right center that the RF made a lunging reach for and collided with the CF and the ball fell out. Albert was running hard ll the way and ended up at 3B. He almost went for the HR and slammed on the brakes rounding 3rd. Vogelbach followed up with a nice single to score.

Almora and Vogy also with BB's. Vogelbach's overall numbers starting to look really good. Yay. I'm sure an arbitrary endpoint sample size would show some really great numbers.

About 9 weeks ago Amaya hit rock bottom, a .601 OPS. Since then he's hit .312/.396/.503/.899 in 212 PAs to bring his season line to .281/.346/.428, very nice to see.

Rivera in to pitch for Kane County. He's been 91-93 and has been the only pitcher all day with a semblance of offspeed stuff.

Rivera just had an incredible play to pick up a bunt on the 3B line and throw from the ground to nab the runner at 1st. It was risky, but it was fantastic to watch.

Amaya a clean 4/4 on the day with a solid single into CF.

Unfortunately 2B makes a sparkling play and flip to the SS for a double play on Almora.

Every time I think about Almora, I just kind of don't get the hype. But then you see the results and hear the reviews and I can't help but buy in.

I think it's really hard to appreciate how fluid he looks until you've seen him in person.

He just got the golden spikes award the other day, I take it he had to be in some other state for that though I didn't pay attention to those details too closely.

FWIW, to compare 1st round position players that waited until close to the deadline to sign, Almora made his debut on 7/23 last year.
