Erick Leal pretty strong in the AZL season opener - 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K.

The only draftees to play for Mesa today are Zak Blair and Giuseppe Papaccio.

the good news: he's only 18!

the better news: we got him for tony campana, who is terrible at baseball and hasn't even played in the major leagues this year!

the best news: we actually got another legitimate prospect in the trade!

Carlos Rodriguez went 2, walking one and striking out two. Surprised he isn't in Arizona's rotation, but figure he'll get plenty of chances over the course of the season.

They only have a 4-man rotation in the AZL (due to the AZL schedule of a day off every 5th day) so there's a lot of piggybacking.

was just having a look at arizona's roster. seems like neftali rosario has really stalled out - third year in the AZL. had some hopes for him after a solid start after being drafted.

interesting pitchers seem to be alexander santana (19 years old), erick leal (18), anthony prieto (19), carlos rodriguez (17) - who am i missing?

don't really know anything about daury torres, but his walk rate is insanely low (9 bb in 115 innings in 2 DSL seasons).

would be nice if mark malave would show something, given his price tag.

Torrez was the only Cub to make BA's DSL top 20 prospects list.

He didn't hit much in EXST but did show a decent eye walking 16 times against 21 Ks in 80 PA which is in line with his DSL numbers last year. He's 18 and 6'3" so he may need some time to coordinate his body, but his middle name is Eckersley so he should be fine...

Damnit, Boise rained out. Really looking forward to seeing Blackburn follow up his first outing.

I'm looking forward to seeing Hannemann but I don't know if he would have been there tonight.

Did he get added to the roster already?

Do you have me blocked? :(

I should hope not. I am studying for the Bar though, so my brain is not in top shape.

Just wait until July comes around.

Indeed. You probably haven't even hit the "OMG, this one single test will determine if I've wasted $100,000 and 3 years of my life or not" stage yet. That was shortly after the 4th of July for me. Fun times.

I've definitely been slacking a bit. I doubt I'll be that bad, though. More like: "OMG I really can't afford to take this again because I'm moving to the other side of the planet in September."

I'm planning on taking the supersexycyborgspy exam, but I hope I don't lose focus while planning for my move to Mars. And the Cubs somethingsomethingsomething.

Are you going to live with Truffle in sin?

Also, [expletive] this board has been around a long time. I remember when you were in high school.
