So where does Jeimer move once Bryant is in the system (obviously Bryant gets priority at 3B)? Could he possibly play 2B? Because I assume once Bryant hits the system they are roughly on the same level of the system.

Nope, Jeimer isn't going up the positional ladder. He can play 1B, but if they're at the same level, they'll split between 3B and DH.

While he certainly isn't the sexiest prospect ever, I think Hendricks has gotten about all he can from AA.

6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 6 K, 8/3 GO/FO

His ERA sits at 2.14

Has he been around the league twice by now? Or at least seen a few teams twice?

He's at 71.1 IP on the year.

But at Kane County Vogelbach and Shoulders both have 1B and DH locked down too.

Good to see Golden continue to hit since he reached KC. K/BB needs work, but like seeing a .914 OPS to start.

Also good to see Almora decided to go back into baseball jesus mode after his mini "slump"(4 for 17, 1 BB, 5 K).

Good point. It probably won't be an issue for more than a month this season. Hopefully they get Shoulders/Vogelbach and Candelario/Bryant some separation somehow.

Not really the FO's style, but I could see Bryant skip KC this year and start nwxt year in AA, assuming he looks OK in Daytona. I figure he's earmarked for the AFL too.

Happy Hendricks Day, you guys.

the fact that we're excited about kyle hendricks starting really shows how boring our minor league pitching is right now

Why?

I agree that the ML pitching is boring right now, but why can't we get excited about a Hendricks start? He's shown over the course of a couple/few years that he's a really good pitcher who has amazing command of the strike zone. I think he's a guy who starts at some point for us next year.

MiLB.com[/url]"]When he's been on the field, Almora's been attacked with a barrage of inside fastballs. He suspects hurlers are pitching him that way because of his open stance, and although he's confident in his abilities to stay inside those fastballs, it's the first time he's been consistently attacked in that way.

"I'm making adjustments every day," the 19-year-old center fielder said, "learning to face different pitches and a different ways of pitching. I'm trying to go out there with a plan and try to have a good day.

"I'm confident in my ability to play baseball overall. I just go up there thinking about trying to get a pitch to hit and attack."

I'm honestly not sure what I get more excited about right now.. a good night from a couple of the top 5-6 guys or a MLB win.

I suppose it depends on which MLB guys were responsible for said win.

We crossed the line for me the last two days.

Same here. This is the best I've felt about the prospects the Cubs have in forever.

As for the ML club, just wanna see guys like Castro, Rizzo, and Shark continue to get better.

Following the minors is fun, but ultimately if I follow it too much it depresses me because the only reason that ever happens is because I've found the Cubs to be be too terrible. I appreciate the few guys here who follow the minors full time and actually know what they're talking about, but it's hard for me to get too excited over minor league players until they show up and contribute for the Cubs or get traded for someone who can contribute now.
