http://www.perfectgame.org/images/profilepics/12NS-GR13.jpg

Trevor Clifton

6'6" 190lbs.

Bats/Throws: R/R

Heritage HS

Maryville, TN

Long and slender athletic build, projects well physically. Compact arm action, multi-piece delivery, 3/4's arm slot, some effort on release. Fastball topped at 91 mph, mostly straight, change up best present pitch, very good feel and nice late life, soft present curveball spin, tends to slow on release, throws strikes with curveball as well. Has the arm strength and pitches to keep improving with some adjustments.

There's video of his delivery here: http://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=297696

Graham is a right-hander with a strong, durable pitcher's build. He's a junior at Franklin Pierce University after transferring this fall from Florida Tech. Graham's fastball velocity fluctuates but scouts believe he has a future average fastball and just a lightly-used curve. He has a strong changeup that sinks down on the third-base corner against lefties and cuts away vs. righties. His current stuff indicates he's most likely to be a reliever in pro ball, and his hard-nosed mentality makes him attractive to teams.

From MLB.com. Not in BA top 500.

Graham is BA's 6th best prospect in New Hampshire.

Franklin Pierce made it to the Division II College World Series, largely on the back of righthander Trevor Graham. He is not as good a prospect as lefthander Steven Hathaway, but he has three average pitches that he throws for strikes. In 110 innings, Graham was 10-2, 1.63 with 123 strikeouts and 21 walks.

14th rounder: Daniel Poncedeleon, RHP, Houston

BA rank - 332:

A 24th-round pick by the Rays in 2010 out of a California high school, Poncedeleon began his college career at Arizona. After pitching just three innings as a freshman, he transferred to Cypress (Calif.) JC and went in the 38th round to the Reds last June. He turned down the pros again to attend Houston, where he has shown solid stuff. The 6-foot-4, 195-pounder owns an 88-91 mph fastball that peaks at 94 and can flash sliders with tight, late break. He has aptitude for throwing a changeup as well. Poncedeleon three-pitch mix isn't as effective as it should be because his control and command are suspect. Scouts also question his competitiveness and toughness.

MLB.com:

This righty has plenty of raw arm strength that helps his fastball stay in the 90-93 mph range, though he loses some of the zip on his heater when he's in the set position. He throws a four-seamer that runs downhill and a two-seamer that has some run and occasional sink. His curve has 12-6 break, and scouts consider him a thrower with fair pitchability. He projects to develop well physically, and has flashy stuff but it can be inconsistent at times. His arm action and delivery mechanics may make him better suited for the bullpen at the next level

15th round was Michael Wagner, San Diego RHP, 6-4 200 lbs

2013: 89 IP, 4.55 ERA, 94 H, 8 HR, 84/32 K/BB

Wagner was San Diego's closer for most of his sophomore year, but while he moved into the rotation in 2013 and served as the Toreros' ace, some see his future back in the bullpen as a setup type. He does have a three-pitch mix from a good pitching frame. His sinking fastball will generate ground-ball outs and his changeup is a legitimate weapon. His breaking ball isn't as good, but has the chance to be a Major League average offering in the future. His pitchability allows his stuff to play up, as does his outstanding mound presence. Wagner's size and overall package of stuff may allow him to start his pro career in a rotation, with the team taking him knowing that a life as a reliever is a pretty good fall-back option.

Is it me or are we heavily drafting guys with strong changeups this year?

15th rounder - Kris Bryan's teammate RHP Michael Wagner -

BA rank 192:

Wagner spent most of his first two seasons in a relief role, ranking second in Division I with 19 saves as a sophomore before moving into the rotation at season's end. He opened this season as USD's Friday starter but moved back to the bullpen after 11 starts, and scouts think he's better suited to relieve despite his three-pitch repertoire. As a starter, he works in the 88-91 mph range with plus life on his sinker, but his stuff is crisper in shorter stints. He commands his fastball to both sides of the plate, pitches to contact and gets plenty of groundball outs. His solid-average slider can be a swing-and-miss pitch, and he is comfortable throwing his average changeup to righties as well as lefties. He has a durable 6-foot-4, 185-pound build and a sound delivery. Wagner's stuff isn't overpowering, but he has good feel for pitching and poise in tight spots, making him a good fit in relief. Some scouts like Wagner as high as the second round, but the consensus places him closer to the fifth to seventh round.

I liked him a lot as a reliever.

Yeah, seems that way.

Brockmeyer was the centerpiece of Bakersfield's lineup as a junior this spring, hitting .333/.419/.484 with four homers and 51 RBIs. At 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, he has plenty of strength and leverage in his swing, giving him average raw power. Despite the length in his swing and a high leg kick that leads to timing issues, he has a feel for the barrel and a decent approach, giving him a chance to be a fringe-average hitter. He's an adequate receiver but lacks mobility behind the plate. He has a loose arm but his arm stroke is not compact. Whoever drafts him will give him a shot behind the plate, but he'll probably wind up at first base.
