So Sveum wastes our only useful relief pitcher on the all-important 2-out, none-on situation, and that pitcher then blows the lead anyway, because Cubs.

Seriously... with the pitcher's spot due up 2nd why not let Villanueva finish the inning?

Mind-boggling

This is the only real complaint I have with Sveum. I don't feel he manages his bullpen well at all, but hopefully he learns.

I mostly give him a pass because the bullpen is so terrible there's not much to be done, but this one annoyed me a little.

:banghead: You can't call that there.

The interference call is a bit iffy, but I'm not sure why the runner has to go back to 1st regardless Edited by UMFan83

Ump rules that Borbon should have just run 5 feet to the left of first base instead of trying to reach

I probably would've kept Villanueva in for another batter, but I'm not going to complain that he put Russell in with a one run lead. It's not Sveum's fault Russell gave up two hits.

I strongly disagree with that interference call.

Keith just said he immediately knew what was going on, with the interference call, but 'didn't want to say anything'. You're a radio broadcaster it's your JOB to say something you clown.

I also hate he then burned another player to give an out away.

Well, I guess it was predictable that the stupid call sending Ransom back to first would instantly result in a double play.

It seems weird, but despite the fact that Russell gave up a run, it was the wrong move to put him in because any pitcher giving up a run there is unlikely and Russell needs to be saved for more important spots.
