My understanding is that there was some crazy sidespin that isn't exactly evident in gif form that made the 1b look that silly.

That's what I thought. It looked kinda like it changed direction after the bounce. It's hard to tell though.

I mean, the 2b still failed at basic coordination.

how is this possible with professional level players

the 1B situation is obviously a sidespin situation because of the contact off the end of the bat.

I mean, the 2b still failed at basic coordination.

he overslid the ball going in the same direction and then he failed to pick it up as he watched the runner to see if he was going home. There's a little slip as he had to change direction for the 3rd time on that play but it's hardly egregious stumbling around.

yeah right, the part where he slides past the ball, picks it up, drops it and then falls on his face is highly egregious
