i don't expect him to leave, but i am definitely worried about the buffalo thing. we really need to win another cup in the next couple years while we still have all these guys together.

Definitely agree with this.

The Blackhawks are in a predicament with the Hossa contract, and I would not assume they will be willing to go right back into another deal that will require a similar ending, especially when Toews will get as much, or more.

Why is Hossa a predicament? I know he's signed for like a decade more, like Keith is, and he's certainly older. Is there something more to it?

Also, I'm not presuming anything, but anyone want to take a guess at when the last time two O6 teams faced off in the SCF?

Edit: It's only happened 6 times since the league expanded beyond the O6

No, there is no predicament.

Hossa is going to be amnestied after next year and his Blackhawks career will be over. There's nothing more to it than that. This should also have no impact on the Kane situation, since Kane is going to be much younger than Hossa was when the Hawks signed him. The Hossa signing has been well worth it, with 1 cup already and maybe another, and thanks to the new CBA his cap hit should be gone shortly. Kane is our franchise player (tied with Toews), and will be a Hawk as long as he wants to be one.

The Hawks should realize how lucky they are to have two of the top 5-10 players in the league, and I am sure they do.

It wasn't Hawks and Wings in 61 was it?

No, I think the O6 era ended in 1968. Last O6 matchup was 1979, Habs and Rangers I believe
