Is there really anything in the last three games that would lead someone to think they could win 3 in a row?

Game 3 wasn't that bad.

Moreover, while Howard has been good, he's also been very lucky, the last two games he's been cleanly beat 4 times only to have the puck hit off a post. Those kinds of things tend to even out and I think they're going swing in the Hawks favor over the next three games.

Swing back enough to result in 3 straight wins? Glad if it happens, but I doubt it will.

They've been missing on their chances, Howard' come up big a few times but, the Hawks have just missed. The will generate more scoring chances and I think its unreasonable to expect them to keep missing. The will start to bury some of them, wouldn't be surprised if game 5 is a blowout win for the Hawks.

It's completely reasonable to think they'll miss enough, over 3 entire games, to result in 1 loss. Come on now.

I'm trying to be optimistic and its about [expletive] time one of our teams came back from being down 3-1 to win a series. Its certainly happened enough to our teams the other way.

Chicago has been soft and a step behind all night. Our PP is a nice two minute piss break for us at home.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see a far playoff run for this team

are you actually mentally [expletive]?

post my response. the argument was never about the pp sucking. it was about you moronically picking out one flaw with the team and then proclaiming that the team would lose because of it, even though in reality thingsd were going amazingly and there were no real indicators of trouble. we all knew/know the pp was a problem. i have specifically posted about it before. are you going to actually pretend like the reason they are losing is just the power play, and that you knew it would happen? you're obnoxious.

trying really hard to be nice about this one, but you are just dumb if you really don't get what that argument was about.

post made by me on 2-13-13:

at this point, the power play is a serious problem. been happening for over a year now

so i actually complained about it long before that post even happened. so, what was i arguing?

LOL You took a simple statement and tried to downplay it insinuating that this team is too good to not make it far and that it wouldn't be much of an issue. I think them sucking at the PP is a huge issue. Please quote me where I've said it's the only problem with this team. Clearly in my quoted post I mention more then just the PP. You come across angry and you're unable to post without throwing an insult. You've got problems.

The PP is only one small reason why were down 3-1. There have already been several posts earlier in this thread that have shown that you don't need a great PP to win the Cup. The Hawks can't score even strength either which they are among the best teams in the league at.

Do I get to go back and dig up all the wrong statements you've made as well?

No.

:)

I thought maybe a good night's sleep and a new day would make me feel better about this, but I can't shake how the Blackhawks' best players are basically all being stoned at the same time by a #7 seed. It's not just Howard. It's not just the PP. It's the entire thing.

We're being beat, soundly, by a team we have no business playing this poorly against. I'll give Detroit full marks for winning, but at some point you've got to simply win some matchups and blow up what they are doing. Especially since they did exactly that in several situations through the year.

If you want. I don't think I've posted very much

To my untrained eye, they've just looked slower this series than all the other games I've watched. It may be that Detroit has better skaters than other teams I've watched them play, but they just don't seem to have that burst out of their own zone that I've seen be a huge advantage all year.

It's really hard to stay positive about this considering it all feels so familiar: can't score against an obviously inferior team.

In a similar situation last year, Q threw Saad out there, Perhaps the time has come to bench Handzus and play one of the black aces. Actually, the time was after game 2 but I've beaten that dead horse for so long I deserve that beating a dead horse gif.

The argument against getting a legit 2nd line center has been 1. they're expensive, 2. hard to come by and 3. The Hawks have enough scoring. What last year and this show me is that they can get by during the regular season with the likes of Handzus, Bolland, etc. but it comes back to haunt them during the playoffs.

Aren't the Hawks going to be facing another mini rebuild after this season? If so I don't expect to see a solid 2nd line Center coming in here anytime soon unless it comes at the expense of a Sharp or Hossa leaving.

I guess this would be easier to take if every single one of my teams rivals didn't have the upper hand over my team.

-Hawks are a loss away from getting knocked out of the playoffs by the Wings for the 2nd time in 5 years. Although the Hawks have won the more recent Cup the Wings have won it what 4 times in the last 20 years?

-Packers have won the last 6 meetings against the Bears including at Soldier Field in the NFC Title game. They have won 2 Super Bowls since the the last Bears SB and have played in 3 SB since the last 17 years compared to the Bears 1.

-Cardinals have won 2 WS in the past 7 years and are an annual contender for almost without exception the last 17 years. Cubs we all know too well.

-Bulls don't really have an arch rival but everyone seems to hate the Heat who have knocked the Bulls out of the playoffs 2 of the last 3 years and are en route to their 2nd straight title and 3rd in the last 7 years

-Ohio State has beat Michigan in football 8 of the last 9 years. I guess I can claim UM basketball over MSU but that's a recent trend after 15 years of MSU dominance. Then there's DePaul Marquette.

Was just hoping to have the bragging rights for once. Sorry for the rant

i downplayed it the reasonable amount that any reasonable person would have. we were having an unprecedented season and you picked one thing to freak out about, because that's what you do. look through your post history on this board. your sole existiance on here is to be miserable and talk about how much you hate things your sports teams do.

congrats, your perpetual doom boner finally paid off and now you can pretend like you actually believed the blackhawks would lose to a 7 seed in the second round.

I'm flattered that you've managed to keep track of my nearly 3000 posts and tag me with a label. That's really reasonable of you. It is pretty strange that you're talking about my "doom boner." That's personal.

The Blackhawks had flaws just like any other team and you managed to get a little too hyped and confident. That's understandable, because you seem to be really emotional on here. Now if you'll excuse be ill go back to being "miserable."

They'll probably lose Emery and Stalberg to FA. They'll probably trade Bolland. Playoff hero Bolland will be hard to replace DILLIGAF Bolland can be replaced in house with Pirri. LeBlanc or Denault *might* be in house options for that second line center. Otherwise, they can still unload Seabrook on some team that still thinks he's a first pairing defenseman.

Just have to win 2 home games and 1 road game against a 7 seed. We can do this. Hockey seems to be the sport where these comebacks happen the most.

optimistic view: hawks are 1 win away from making the series as close as it could possibly be through 5 games.
